SFDP has turned 1

Time literally flys 😅

I could write a massive post here about how we got here all the ups and the downs, amazing things we’ve achieved from SFDP, why I created SFDP but although it’s my name

SFDP isn’t about me.

It’s about the girls.
The women who show up every week
The dancers who want to learn and develop their skill
The ladies who want to make friends and connextions
The gals who just LOVE TO DANCE
The gals that want to choreograph themselves
The girls that used to dance when they were younger
The gals who love a social
The ladies who want to feel more confident and MOVE their bodies

Without you SFDP wouldn’t be turning 1 and I cannot thank you all enough 💓

Anyone that has liked, shared, come to an event, ANYTHING I truly appreciate it ☺️

Also the 1 person that made all of this possible @ameliagraceparker

(Soppy note, thank you for always believing in me and pushing me to achieve my dreams and goals when I have doubted myself. You really are my creative director/ stylist and above all my sister 💓)

Here’s to the next year of SFDP😉💃🏻

Big love

What would happen if you worked on your relationship with your body, food and training?‼️

These are some questions I think more dancers should ask themselves.☺️
Because dancers can spend A LOT of time in their heads about their bodies (what they look like, what they weigh, what they eat, whether they’re strong enough, lean enough, “dancer enough”…)

Trust, I’ve been there 😅

And honestly, some of these are questions I’ve asked my own clients when they’re feeling stuck in those thoughts too.💓

So if you’re having a bad body image day, or your thoughts are just living rent free in your head 🫠 (save this and come back to it).

You don’t have to have all the answers straight away. Sometimes it’s just helpful to ask yourself a different question.

This is a huge part of the work I do inside my online coaching —really in-depth, personalised support around body image, your relationship with food and training, alongside your individual goals.

And if you’re a dancer who wants to focus on getting stronger and improving your performance, my self-paced Stronger Dancer Programme is also available.

All links are in the bio ⬆️🔗💓

Save this for when you need it. 🤍

Big love 💃🏻

The biggest thing I wish every dancer knew about strength training? 👇

It isn’t about changing your body.

It’s about building a body that can keep up with everything dance demands.

✨ More power.
✨ Better control.
✨ Greater resilience.
✨ Reduced injury risk.
✨ More confidence in your movement.

For so long, dancers have been told that being smaller makes them better.

But the truth is, dance asks so much of your body. It deserves training that supports it—not punishes it.

That’s exactly why I created the Stronger Dancer Programme.

An 8-week strength & conditioning programme designed specifically for dancers who want to improve their performance, build confidence, and feel stronger both in and out of the studio.
Whilst including resources to help with common struggles that dancers face around mindset, body image and relationship with food.

Because dancers aren’t just performers.

They’re athletes. 💪

If you’re ready to become a stronger, more confident dancer, getting the absolute most out of your sessions, click the link in my bio to join. 🤍

PLATFORM 2026

It was an absolute honour to dance with these incredibly talented and beautiful women every week.

To have showcased a well thought out and crafted piece by @shiv.fitz was such a pleasure, highlighting so many important messages about embodiment, finding yourself, breaking out of social norms and overall self love ✨

Finding a dance community like @shivfitzdanceperth was the best thing I ever did since moving the Perth 💓💓💓

Apparently dancers just prance around all day... 💁🏻‍♀️🩰

If only.

The reality? Dancers are jumping, landing, rehearsing for hours and placing huge physical demands on their bodies—yet many still aren’t trained like the athletes they are.

Even if you’re not in full time training or a professional dancer. If you’re going to class and you want to develop as a dancer. There are no two ways about it, strength training will help!

Strength training won’t take away your artistry.

It’ll help you perform it.
If we’re going to call dancers athletes, let’s start training them like athletes.

What do you think—is strength training still underrated in the dance world?

BTS of the whole day. Thank you to everyone who supported, it means the absolute world.

Sick opportunity to show my work, my message and vision and my brilliant dancers.

Working with the gals has been the highlight for me and watching them grow not just as dancers but in their confidence 🥺

Even more special that I met most of the gals apart from Lara through them coming @shivfitzdanceperth classes💓💓

IT’S LIVE 🎉🩰

Over the years I’ve worked with so many dancers who know strength training would benefit them, but feel completely overwhelmed by the gym, don’t know where to start, worry about “getting bulky”, or end up doing random workouts without any real structure.

Strength training has made a huge difference to my own dancing, confidence, resilience and performance, and it’s something I believe more dancers should have access to.

That’s why I’ve created the Strength for Dancers Program.
💪 8-week structured program
📱 App access
📈 Progress tracking
🎥 Exercise demonstrations
🧠 Resources to support your training, your overall health and wellbeing and your dance development and performance.

⚠️ Please note: This is not a personalised service or 1:1 coaching. It is a self-guided program designed to give you structure, guidance and confidence in the gym. Along with help on other areas such as body image, food relationship and the barriers we often face as Dancers.
