One of the things I’m most grateful for is seeing my son use his college experience to care for others. Through his affiliation with the University of Arkansas Associated Student Government (ASG), Nick and his peers are helping lead a campus-wide food drive supporting the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry, which provides emergency groceries and personal care items to students and other campus community members facing food insecurity. March 31st and April 1st are the final days and they are working hard to finish strong. Their efforts are also part of the SEC Food Fight, a friendly competition among SEC schools to see who can make the biggest impact for their campus pantry. Adding flyer and donation link for details. Happy Friday friends. ❤️ . . I hope that the new year has been good to all of you. I’ve been struggling a bit... my worry and anxiety have been at an all time high. . . I’m trying to give it all to God, because I know he cares for me. . . 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” . . As many of you know, I brought my mom to live with us last summer, following a fall and also wanting her close, because of the covid pandemic. It’s been nice having her here, but it’s also been hard and a huge adjustment. . . I worry about her contracting covid, I worry about her continuing to decline on a daily basis and what the future holds. I worry about what kind of day we’ll have when she wakes up in the mornings. And most of all, I wonder if I’m strong enough to handle any of this... . . Now more than ever, I know I need to take care of myself, so I can be healthy to continue to be able to take care of her. I need to manage my stress and anxiety level so I don’t wear my own body down and get sick myself. . . After a lot of thought, the word I’ve chosen for 2021 is HEALTH. Overall health, I’m working on the whole package... mind, body and spirit. I hope these lifestyle changes will help me cope with the hard situations that I know will be coming my way soon. . .
