One of the special aspects of the Garden to Cafeteria process is that our students are a part of growing & harvesting the produce that will be served on their lunch plates! Last week, papa 9 + 10 of Kula Kaiapuni o Hāna harvested ʻuala for the cafeteria. There's no better way to kick off the school year.

Mahalo to everyone who came out yesterday to @hanamauiresort to make the Farmers Market happen! We were overwhelmed with support from our local community, making it possible for a free distribution of more than $6500 in locally grown and produced organic produce, fish, eggs, poi, coconut milk and so much more to kama'āina in need. The best part! all the money stayed in Hāna, circulating directly back into the pockets of our East Maui farmers and producers who pulled together a market in the midst of their own storm difficulties. We look forward to inviting everyone back next Aloha Friday for more local food boxes and market bucks!

Yesterday's market programs were supported through our partnerships with @mauiunitedway @hfuuofficial and @ohanamakamae
