Test. Don’t guess.

Connor Winter had been through labral surgery, a Haglund’s procedure, and years of Achilles problems. Every treatment aimed at where it hurt. Nothing stuck.

We focused on fixing the system as a whole instead of the individual symptoms. The data showed that we were right.

Braking force: cut in half. Pronation rate: down 28%. Healthy and running smooth 👊

Swipe to see the metrics Connor measured with his device @shoesenserunning, and why the differences matter. Catch a segment of my webinar with Connor on my YouTube channel

“I was seeing stars—just on my absolute limit, but then I was able to run two minutes faster a year and a half later and feel like it was a totally different effort”

Two minutes faster. So much smoother. That’s what two years of intentional work looked like for pro marathoner @connorwinter1.

Connor came to me after years of recurring injuries, surgeries, and treatments. We rebuilt his system around healthy, sustainable movement. And with metrics from his @shoesenserunning tracking device, he had the data to back up the changes.

He shared his experience and the data behind it in a live webinar. Catch the highlight on my YouTube, or join the community for access to full sessions like this. Link in bio to learn more.

Understanding the body as a whole system…not isolated parts.

When Connor Winter — pro marathoner for @tinmanelite and founder of @shoesenserunning — came to me with Achilles pain, I didn’t start by looking at his lower leg. I started at the top of the chain, working on tension and alignment at his neck.

His reaction was exactly what I hear every time. What are you doing up there? My neck has nothing to do with my Achilles.
But it does.

The symptom is never a reliable map of the cause. An Achilles that’s chronically tight, a hamstring that won’t release, a shin that keeps flaring, these aren’t local problems. They’re signals from a system that’s likely lost its path somewhere upstream. Many athletes get caught chasing the symptom for far too long. Find the source and everything downstream has a chance to resolve.

Connor was able to regain consistency in his training and a new fluidity and efficiency in his running. And not because we fixed his Achilles, but because we stopped treating his body like a collection of separate parts and instead looked at it as a connected system.
