To our tribe, thank you for showing up, for cheering, for believing. To our artisans, our weavers, our team — you made magic happen. And to everyone who witnessed The Line unfold, we hope you felt the pulse, the energy, the freedom in every piece.

Yesterday, I photographed students of the Department of English UNILAG who defended their thesis. All I can say is this: Nigerians love education. Our young people are stellar. With the right infrastructure to support their hunger for excellence, the rest will truly be history.

1. Ude Ugo Anna (@ugothegood) whose thesis is on Functionalism in Ogbia Oral Poetry.

2. Joseph Ajakaye (@joseph.ajakaye) whose thesis is on The Poetics of Selected Football Commentaries in The English Premier League.

3. O.T. Praise Dolapo (@mynameisdolapo) whose thesis is on Sociopolitical Experiences in Selected Songs of Beautiful Nubia and Asa.

4. Ononuju Eunice (@unique_elocution) and her study of Religious and Cultural Erosion in The River Between by Ngugi Wa Thiong’O and The Old Man and The Medal by Ferdinand Oyono.

5. Naomi Ndudim (@thisis.naomi) whose study is on Intonation Patterns in Selected Speeches of Nigerians.

6. Shola Gunnell (@shola_gunnell) whose thesis is A Study of The Language Styles in Selected Nigerian Music Artistes.

It was such a joy documenting this landmark day for these young people. Every one of them had an interesting and insightful topic. They sunk their teeth into the research making it above average.

Congratulations to these graduates! Up Humanities!
