Time seems to pass so quickly. I can hardly believe that it has been more than ten years since I first began traveling to Morocco in search of beautiful vintage textiles.
In this first photograph, you see me on one of the many rooftops of Marrakech—still looking rather young.

What is it, beyond my passion for textiles, that has drawn me back to Morocco again and again for so long? Is it the scenery, the striking contrast between light and shade? Is it the people—their frugality, their hospitality, which for them goes without saying, their instinctive readiness to share everything with one another? Is it the architecture, the poetry of the landscapes, the boundless creativity? The list could go on forever.
Morocco is a country with a rich and layered history. And yet, unlike pre-Columbian, Middle Eastern, or Far Eastern civilisations—where findings and linkages among symbols and textiles have been extensively documented—Moroccan carpets and flat-woven textiles remain, to this day, surprisingly unknown.

The second photograph shows a small pile rug still in my collection: a wonderful example of spontaneous, deeply creative weaving from the Azilal region of Morocco. Wool on wool, a true vintage masterpiece. Its astonishing affinity with twentieth-century European painting and graphic art continues to fascinate me, revealing how these weavings speak a visual language that feels both ancient and strikingly modern.

The third photograph portrays the remarkable people who trusted me and joined me on this extraordinary journey into the Anti-Atlas of Morocco—one of its least traveled regions. It is an austere and powerful landscape, where saffron is cultivated and women weave carpets in their homes on vertical looms built by their own hands, continuing traditions shaped by resilience, creativity, and deep cultural memory.
We still have a few places available for our journey from 14–21 April 2026. Please feel free to DM me for further information.
