1 of 1 🗣️ The career of No 1. Garrett Reid of Deshler High School is forever worthy of coverage for his unprecedented achievements at the High School level for The Tigers across multiple sports. Garrett is a 3-sport All-State First Team member, which includes Player of the Year honors for Baseball. The POTY recognition for Baseball comes on the heels of a 2025 season in which Garrett was an integral part of a State title for Deshler, defeating Bibb County for a Blue Map. For Football, he has been crucial in deep postseason runs, long winning streaks, and rivalry victories. He was honored All-State First Team at Receiver. Much of the same can be said for Basketball, in which he also posted a spot on the All-State First Team. He sealed Deshler’s spot in the Final Four in Bham after a game winning steal and Free Throw. While his High School career is behind him, Garrett is signed to Samford in Bham to continue his Baseball career, and we are absolutely sure he will make time to come home for his people of Tuscumbia. Keep being great! —— 📸 Baseball: @brookies.media 📸 Basketball: @currencylensmedia 📸 Football: @shoopashoots

BOTY‼️ Congrats to Mars Hill’s Jaxon Penn, who adds onto his legacy once again, this time bringing home Class 3A Back of the Year honors! Jaxon was a major factor all season long in Mars Hill’s undefeated campaign to make it 2 straight Blue Maps at the 3A level. He was MVP of the State title game after running wild versus Bayside Academy. He rushed for over 200 years and 3 Touchdowns. He is headed to Troy University to continue his career as a Class of 2026 member. The Trojans have themselves a good one! Keep being great! 📸 @shoopashoots

Four teams left…all elite‼️ Class 3A features a pair of games each with their own storylines due to the heightened levels of familiarity between the foes! There is only 1 loss between them, and each showcases their athleticism in very different ways. ⬇️ Matchups ⬇️ Mars Hill vs Piedmont - Two undefeated teams meet once again, after their matchup in 2024! Undefeated Mars Hill comes into the game looking to make it 2 in a row versus Piedmont, and 2 in a row for State titles. Piedmont, defeating Gordo 28-20 in the QF, comes into the game loaded with talent and winning multiple games by significant double digits. Bayside Academy vs Southside Selma - Bayside’s only loss is to undefeated 4A powerhouse St Michael Catholic, in the midst of their own Final Four run. Since then, Bayside has railed off 12 straight wins, including their 30-13 victory over MGM Academy in the QF. Southside Selma is 13-0, and have won 11 games in a row by double-digits. They only have one game decided by 1 score all season. This includes their QF win over Glenwood, 34-21 final. —— Elite Football is on the way, sooner than you know it 👀 Keep being great! 📸 @shoopashoots

Romans 12:10 “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” I’m so grateful God has blessed me with this Deshler Family. Forever proud to put on the jersey with my brothers. As always it’s great to be a Deshler Tiger.
