✨Performer Spotlight✨
Jess Sheeran places supreme value on originality and her goal in every new project is to make something that no one has ever made before.

She is known for Cool Critters, her lively, one-of-a-kind stuffed creatures. Whether crafting menacing masks, avant garde wearables, otherworldly interactive environments, or simply painting a cool stick she found on the side of the road, she thrives on experimentation and aims to create playful and strange spaces that invite wonder and connection.

The Lonely Reef - our amazing mobile haven on playa.

What a joy it was to contribute to this art car and be a part of its camp community this year. Such a creative team of a talented and magical people coming together to build this unique moving wonder that hosted so many incredible memories for me and many others this year.

Big thanks to @zeve.cohen and @haydencarey_ for bringing me onboard this past spring to help design and digitally fabricate a new front console for enclosing the electronics and housing the radio, LED control panel, and propane gauges. It was a really fun project to work on and I’m thrilled with how it came out. Thanks for inviting me to join the fun!

Also huge shout out to @dmarable for all of his excellent automechanic fixes out in playa that kept the reef moving all week long. Great work out there, thank you for your perseverance and skill.

Another big thanks to everyone else who contributed to the Reef and helped make it such a delightful and fun vehicle to ride on. Yall are awesome!

Behind the scenes magic for some of our featured installations!

A big part of SOMOS is creating space for artists to make things that people can experience, interact with, and take in while they’re at the festival.

Come see the full scale experiences this Saturday September 19th at @nhcc!
