Join us this Friday at 11 AM for a journey through a variety of sports with new woman-led illustrations, teaching little ones that sport is for everyone. After the book reading, there will be a fun World Cup-inspired activity.

The inspiration came from my nieces, who reminded me just how important it is for girls to see themselves represented in stories. I wanted to create a book that celebrates girls in sports, allowing my nieces and so many others to find their strength and passions reflected in these pages.

It’s truly humbling to think that this book may encourage young girls to pursue their dreams, just as my nieces inspire me every day.

See you all Friday ❤️

This year, I took a leap of faith and stepped out of my comfort zone (yet again) to create a book of my own @kyanaandfriends ❤️

The inspiration came from my nieces who reminded me just how important it is for girls to see themselves represented in stories. I wanted to create a book that celebrates girls in sports, allowing my nieces and so many others to find their strength and passions reflected in these pages.

To start this process, I reached out to poet and self-published author @sylviagalofaituli. She introduced me to Jimmi, @studiosivia a self-published author and self-publishing strategist. With her guidance, encouragement and PATIENCE, we were able to bring my vision to life. THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!!! @sylviagalofaituli @studiosivia

Today, I’m so proud to say that we’ve sold over 50 copies! Some even displayed at @casitabookstore, a local bookstore in Long Beach.

It’s truly humbling to think that this book may encourage young girls to pursue their dreams, just as my nieces inspire me every day.
