Stop putting up with anything that you don’t deserve. Your weight, your hot flashes, your weaknesses, your low energy, your mood, your pain.

Here’s the thing. None of us “deserve” any of these discomforts. They just exist. Our individual challenge is not to let it define us wholly. Fat, skinny, irritable, weak, disabled, doctor, stay at home mom, old, young….you get the point. These are labels you can choose to see however you want to see them. You also have the choice to radically refine them.

You can lose weight. You can feel younger. You can go get the surgery to decrease pain or discomfort. What you don’t dare do is replace the label with another one you don’t define for yourself

I have scoliosis. Some small minded person called me “scolio girl” in middle school. I actually hung my head in shame and let it define me to some degree back then. I was naturally then a bit embarrassed of my gigantic scar on my back from my first spinal fusion when I had it “corrected”. I had my mom cover it up with make up for prom and other fancy occasions because it was large and loud and attention grabbing. At some point in my life, it just became part of me and I was proud of what that meant for my body….as a middle aged woman (gasp! Oh the horror! 🙄) I redefined for myself what strength could look like with a back full of metal.

Yesterday I put on my “doctor” uniform (ie the softest scrubs I may have ever felt in my life!) because I wanted to feel that definition of myself for a bit before I become a “patient” next week. It was healing for me as I hopefully healed some other women. Doctor stopped being an overworked, haggard label for me 5 years shop because I didn’t give up on a word I spent years of my life working towards.

So full stop. 🛑
Do the mental work now. Ponder in your heart what you want your new labels to be. Craft them into what you truly deserve. You and only you hold that power

@shopkindthread And like the label implies. For god’s sake just choose to kind in whatever threads you choose to wear. Whether you’re a middle schooler, a parent of a middle schooler, or just any other human. Be a kind human, the world is watching ya

$How it started ➡️ VS… How it’s going 💫 From shooting with incredible local Kentucky women photographers back in 2014, to now modeling for name brands I used to see and dream about… this journey has been wild, humbling, and so fulfilling. I’m so proud of where I started — and even prouder that I never gave up. Every shoot, every “yes,” every “no,” every lesson — it all brought me here. And I’m just getting started. 🤍 Sharing just a fraction of the tear sheets I could find on my phone! To anyone chasing a dream: don’t wait to feel “ready.” Start where you are. You never know where it’ll take you. #HowItStarted #ModelLife #FullCircleMoment #ThenAndNow #DreamChasing #WomenInMedia #ModelJourney #FromTheGroundUp #ManifestIt #HardWorkPaysOff #decadejourney #modeling #commercial #print #plusmodel #curvemodel$
