My Saturday is looking quite nice with Putong Bigas, coffee, and some note-taking while I'm taking a break from an illustration project. 🤓☕

#11 Letters to Self / Gratitude Series

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” - Steve Jobs

Macbook. My 3rd ever in my whole life since I started using one in 2007. It’s easy to overlook a computer once you’ve been using them for a while. You start taking it for granted. But it’s one of those things that will completely derail you when it’s gone. I certainly can’t do anything without it. It’s my workhorse. Everything gets done here. Work and business. Personal and Entertainment.

It’s one of the things that make life easier, a lifeline. In my youth, I certainly never imagined I’ll have such a useful and powerful tool within my fingertips. And now that I have it, it sometimes feel no more than a table.

I like to take the time to acknowledge its presence in my life. It’s seen me through school, a few businesses, the Bar, some of my most important writings, and the best shows and movies ever produced.

Why must it be a Mac? Overrated. Expensive. It’s probably all those things. But what it is, and why I keep coming back to it, is it’s reliable and, save for when it gets thrown off the floor with a bang, never problematic. It relatively lasts a long time too — this last one is particularly *chef’s kiss* despite having been thrown off the floor with a bang.

This here is a piece of machine that signifies revolutionary technology achieved with minimalist aesthetic, and a product of the brain that is Steve Jobs. To have something that is a part of that great man is a constant reminder of how perfection can be achieved if you work hard enough, have heart enough, and if you dare to be different and live your purpose. The quote above is not misplaced.
