One week of our sweet Forrest ❤️

He’s officially passed his birth weight again, he’s been rocking being exclusively breastfed, and he’s such a sweet, calm baby boy. Feeling extremely blessed to have him here with us finally is a huge understatement, also this has been the hardest postpartum I’ve had out of all 3 kids 🙃 #oneweekold #miraclebaby

Some baby essentials are just as lovely as they are useful, and this one has my heart. 🥹🤍

I was drawn to the timeless charm of a Moses basket, so discovering this beautiful piece by @shoplovedua lovingly handwoven by artisans in Ghana, felt like such a perfect match.

I love when something new for our little girl feels like it belongs in our home from the very beginning. 🐣✨

He is now here and this bassinet is in fact as life saver. It’s so lightweight and gets moved all around our first floor 🙌 #babyitems #secondbaby #newbornandtoddler #babyessentials #babyregistry @shoplovedua

I’ve been thinking a lot about this one moment from our third second-trimester loss last August.

We had a planned induction to deliver our 15-week baby boy on a Sunday afternoon. But before heading to the hospital, we did what we do every Sunday. We went to church.

I remember sitting in the lobby, completely broken, crying through a pain I didn’t know how to carry again. A woman I had never met walked up to me, laid her hand on me, and began to pray. Then she said something I have never forgotten.

“I don’t know you or what you’re going through, and I’m not sure if this means anything to you, but God told me it’s going to happen.”

I had no idea what to do with those words in that moment. We had just experienced another devastating loss, and we still had no answers as to why. How was I supposed to believe that?

But I carried those words with me through every fertility test, every ultrasound, every injection, every moment of fear, and every milestone of my pregnancy with Forrest.

I don’t know if she could have ever understood just how deeply those words would stay with me.

And today, as I hold our rainbow baby boy in my arms, I keep thinking about that moment. About how God met me in one of the darkest moments of my life, when I had absolutely nothing left to hold onto but Him.

I don’t share this to say that every prayer is answered the way we hope, or that faith means we won’t walk through heartbreak. I share it because even in the seasons when we cannot understand what God is doing, He can still meet us right in the middle of our pain.

Last August, I sat in that church lobby grieving the baby I was about to say goodbye to. Today, I’m holding the baby I spent years praying for.

And I will never forget the woman who reminded me to keep believing, even when I couldn’t yet see what God had planned. 🤍. #rainbowbaby🌈 #onlygod #butgod
