hi pals!! I feel like I’m a weird dreamlike state where moving to a new city doesn’t exactly feel real quite yet. All of the moving boxes are unpacked, everything is put away. I might rearrange our apartment a few more times. I spent a few days this week at my new pottery studio playing around and it has been fun to tell people I moved here a few days ago. And above all, I FINALLY sat down and sewed something for the first time in a very, very long time!!
•I’ve been wanting to combine my love of pottery and my love of clothing together for such a long time now. I collect buttons wherever I travel to. I have a box filled with buttons from France, Italy, and from small independent sewing shops along the east coast. They’re the smallest sentimental glimpse at the places I’ve been, even if they’re an overlooked detail by most people.
•now I have a small box filled with buttons made by me✨. (@ffern.co boxes make the best tiny keepsake boxes) I’m sure as time goes, my buttons will become more and more intricate and they’ll be timestamps of me as an artist.
•sewed them onto this top from a beloved self drafted pattern I’ve used a million times, in a lovely gingham fabric from @lyricalfabrics 🌷
•funny enough, I wore my tulip button shirt to buy a tulip shower curtain from @shopoddbird 🌷🌷🌷🌷 there’s a theme around here 🌷🌷🌷🌷
