The time is going to pass anyways. Nothing to lose but everything to gain. It’s the mentality switch that we are after, not the physique. This actually has nothing to do with fitness.

The Highland Study 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Part 9: Because black walnut trim isn’t readily available off-the-shelf, we had to mill our own! I do love the meticulous process of trim carpentry, but it can be tedious and slow-going so don’t mind me, I’ll just be here for the next 11 years. This is my life now.

The Highland Study 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Part 8: This ain’t your grandma’s 1970s wood paneling… we’re throwing it all the way back to the 1600s, Jacobean style. 🏰

We’re installing these black walnut panels and watching this room transform from a basic boring box into a distinguished gentleman’s study. BRB, buying a monocle and a pipe. 🥃

I might have a problem 😂
These Shop Shades look too good to only wear in the shop, so apparently they’re just part of the outfit now.

Woodworking, soccer, dinner, brushing my teeth… doesn’t matter.

Finishing jobs that the original contractor either ran from or neglected the last 10% of work, is my specialty 😂 It happens too often. So to any of you contractors out there that fit this description I ask…how do you sleep at night!? 😆

The Highland Study renovation continues! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Part 6! Now that the built-ins are built, we’re moving onto making and installing the wood paneling.

🤓 Nerd alert: have you heard of a mason’s miter? It’s a small detail that started in stone masonry and made its way into architectural woodwork. We’re trying to recreate that look and I can’t wait to see the entire room wrapped in beautiful black walnut… stay tuned, things are getting good!
