Golden hour in the Kalahari!

A little time spent visiting my parents on their cattle ranch, enjoying the beauty of the Kalahari, and doing what we do best — scouting for kudu and staying one step ahead of the game, even as our hunting season draws to a close.

There’s something special about this place. The landscapes, the quiet moments, and the feeling of being home. It’s a reminder of why we love what we do and why there’s always work to be done behind the scenes to prepare for the season ahead.

The 2026 season might be winding down, but our eyes are already set on what promises to be a massive 2027 season!

Kudu hunting spots for 2027 are almost fully booked. If hunting free-range Kalahari kudu is on your bucket list, now is the time to get in touch.

Chase was able to harvest this incredible old male springbuck on his recent trip to Africa. These animals are incredibly fast, alert, and smart. After countless stalks on different bucks throughout the trip, we finally got the opportunity to slip in close and seal the deal on this stud of a springbuck.

Every hunt, every mile, and every moment along the way has been part of a journey we’ll never forget. We hope you guys have enjoyed following along with the African 29 series as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing you along for the ride. 🔥

Thanks to Brendan and Harry, again for all the great hunts and memories! @huntingthekalahari 🤘🏻

There are sunsets you stop to photograph, and then there are sunsets that make you stop and appreciate where you are.

For us, this is home.

The Kalahari isn't just where HTK Safaris operates. It is where we spend our days, where our families have made memories, where friendships have been built around campfires, and where we have had the privilege of sharing something very special with people from all over the world.

After spending so much time here, it would be easy to take it for granted. But every now and then, a sunset like this reminds you just how lucky you are.

The red sand.
The endless horizon.
The quiet evenings.
The animals moving through the last light.
The smell of the fire as the day comes to an end.

These are the things that make the Kalahari home.

And perhaps that is what we love most about sharing it with our clients. We don't just want them to remember the animal they hunted.

We want them to remember how it felt to be here.

The first morning when the sun came up over the Kalahari.
The excitement of the first tracks in the sand.
The laughter in the Land Cruiser.
The cold drink around the fire.
The stories that somehow get better every evening.

And that moment, on the last night, when you realise you don't really want to leave.

That is the Kalahari experience.

And we are grateful every single day that we get to call it ours.

Chase was able to successfully harvest this beautiful mature nyala bull on his recent trip to South Africa🙌🏻

A challenging pursuit through thick African cover, ending with an incredible bull and another unforgettable chapter in the journey toward the African 29.

Again, a huge thanks to @huntingthekalahari for being an outstanding PH and getting us in the right position to make a quality shot on this amazing animal🙌🏻
