HIP CARs 🚗 🚗with @zacktive 🔥

Your hips don’t just need mobility — they need control.

For combat athletes, the hip has to produce and control movement in multiple directions: throwing kicks, changing levels, shooting, sprawling, passing guard, retaining guard, scrambling and generating rotational power.

In the gym, better hip control can improve how you squat, hinge, lunge and rotate under load. For general fitness, it helps build movement capacity so your body is better prepared for whatever your training throws at it.

Hip CARs challenge you to actively move the hip through its available range while minimising compensation from the pelvis and lumbar spine.

🥊 Striking: Access and control the ranges required for kicking, pivoting and rotation.

🥊 Higher, cleaner kicks
🤼 Better positions & scrambles
🏋️ Stronger movement through deeper ranges

The goal isn’t just more range.
It’s to own the range you already have — then progressively expand what you can control.

Mobility without control is just range.
Range you can control becomes a tool.

Check out this exercise to work on end range abduction for kicks as well as stability on the contralateral (opposite) side 🦿🦿

Your body has a default pattern, and your brain will always default to the path of least resistance via compensation 🧠

We always preach slow, controlled and INTENTIONAL when addressing and attempting to isolate weak links in the chain ⛓️‍💥

The end goal is to always integrate the areas we focus on back into the entire kinetic chain ⛓️⛓️

Give this exercise a try and let us know what you think! 👇
