Sometimes, I wonder if I’ve accidentally joined a cult 🥰

This year has certainly been hectic for me, and I know some of my friends and riding buddies have been feeling the same. With that, though, I’d still like to try and get as many people together for a ride at Aberfoyle on memory of Mr Andy Cathcart.
I’m thinking June 19th - it’s the Sunday after 10 Under the Ben, so I may be on an ebike! The trails are challenging, but totally rideable as well as being a whole load of fun.
Please feel free to share this around as it’s an open invite to get people riding their bikes.
Aberfoyle, behind the Wool Museum Car Park - 10am - Sunday 19th June. Wear something pink!

Andy Cathcart’s Memorial Ride - this Sunday - 10am - Drumlanrig Castle - Spread the word.

Finally - we can all meet in the same place to turn ourselves inside out for Andy Cathcart on some properly testing trails.
As we were all riding in pink in various places last year (nice work all!), it would be amazing to get everyone together at Drumlanrig MTB Trails with pink accessories and suitable trail snacks in hand.
It’s an open invite, so please feel free to share.
So - Sunday, June 13, Drumlanrig Castle. Winner.

Andy’s memorial ride on Sunday won’t be the gathering we’d hoped for due to ongoing situation, but please ride on Sunday wearing Andy’s signature colour, scare yourself shitless on Andy style trails and recover with more sugar than an adult should consume in a week.

Well, it’s pretty official now that we won’t be able to get everyone together in the same place to ride for Andy Cathcart this year.
So, as per the earlier post, please get out, wear something pink and show off your #whatline stickers on June 14.
I’ll keep an eye out for the #whatline tag and collate everything into something.
Feel free to share this in your stories to spread the word (click the wee paper plane below this image). Thanks again and get riding.

G'day
Its ridiculous that I get so pumped on older well used bikes. Infact I have been chatting about doing a wee partnership with @shotbydunn to bring you some hack/pub bikes!!
Over to Jamie:
This one goes out to all the skint people that can't afford to change bikes every season or two. I've always ridden steel frames, hardtails and bmx I don't think there's a better material to build an mtb from, durable and compliant.
I got the frame from my friend JP in 2013 and since then it's been all over Scotland, Wales, England, France and Switzerland. I've crashed it more times than i remember and it has taken it like a champ. 26 ain't dead !
Frame : Production privee shan of hazzard - Large

Fork : 2014 Fox 36 float RC2 Kashima

Stem : Hope 45mm

Bar : MK1 Renthal fatbar uncut
Grips : Renthal kevlar - these are dreadful in the wet - changed for deathgrips.

Seatpost : Thomson masterpiece layback - dropper one day - been saying this for 7 years !

Saddle : Charge spoon

Wheels : Hope pro2 evo on 729 - buckled af ! Front wheel from a specialized pitch. Riding tracks like the pleney is pretty savage on the hardtail and rear wheels always bear the brunt of my poor line choices - luckily 26" replacements are cheap so ideal for a beater like this... Tyres : Magic Mary - is there a better tyre for scottish slop ?! Brakes : Shimano XT 2pot - rear lever is severely bent after crashing badly on the Pleney - ain't broke so all good ! OEM resin pads for all the bite !

Cranks : Shimano zee - been on since 2014 really durable.

Pedals : Shimano saint
Rear Mech : Shimano zee - snapped this recently so now it's
a deore. Actually worked pretty well with a half snapped cage...
If anyone has spare dropper kicking about then Jamie is looking for one. 30.9 and non internal if poss!?!?! Massive thank you to all who have sent bikes in to me. I actually have a wee batch waiting to go up. Thank you so much.

Those who know will recognise what this photo means instantly.
I had planned to get everyone together on June 14 at Drumlanrig Castle to remember Andy Cathcart on a suitably Cathcart trail, but I think the planet may have other ideas.
With that in mind, those who have What Line? stickers, please go for a ride on June 14 (within the guidelines!), take a photo and tag it with #whatline.
I’ll do my best to collate them all together the day after.
If, by the grace of Gaia, we’re all allowed back out to play before then, I’ll get in touch and plan the trip Drumlanrig.
Please share this around to make sure all that need to be in the know are.
Much love!
