@showbothrows Join us on September 24th, 5-9pm for the last Slow Roll of the year and check out Nerd’s fly slow fashion looks as they participate in Slow Fashion Slow Roll. Meet at Chroma 2937 E Grand Blvd. Dj’s/foodtrucks/Slow Fashion Marketplace. Ride is 6:30-7:30ish. House of Both Rows is a Detroit-based fashion house reimagining what clothing can do. Led by designer Nerd, the brand blends sustainability, upcycling, and intentional functionality to create pieces designed not just to be seen, but to move, adapt, and live with you. For Slow Fashion Slow Roll, Both Rows brings that philosophy to life through garments built for movement—proving that function doesn’t have to sacrifice style. Nerd’s partner, Miki Sticky, is also deeply involved in Detroit’s slow fashion and education community as part of Slow Stitch Detroit’s curriculum-building team for youth education, including the Bringing Home Economics Back program. We are thrilled to feature Show Both Rows to amplify what Slow Fashion means to Detroit and the world! Interview w/ Nerd: WHAT DOES SLOW FASHION MEAN TO YOU? “Slow fashion means creating with intention—thinking about where materials come from, how a garment is made, how it functions, and what happens to it after its first life. It means making pieces people want to keep, repair, transform, and continue wearing instead of treating clothing as disposable.” WHY DOES IT MATTER? “Fashion can be beautiful without constantly creating more waste. As a designer, I’m especially interested in showing what can be created from what already exists. Through upcycling, functionality, and thoughtful construction, slow fashion gives us the opportunity to create clothing with longer lives while encouraging people to rethink their relationship with what they wear.”
