Thought I should mush together some of the silly videos we've taken while making my lil film, had a lot of fun using real life prosthetics. And got to work with the iconic @bill_hunt_studio_horror_art and amazing makeup artist @annamaemakeup. Much more in the vaults to share!

Travel to the Kingdom of Norway – famous for its beautiful fjords, mountains, rivers and… trolls! Watch out for trolls. Also overcrowded fictional tunnels.

There is lots of dark humour and drama to soak up in this collection of short films. As well as thoughtful satire, dreamy landscapes and the creative imaginings of some of Norway’s most iconic filmmakers.

Thank you @showmeshorts and Hannah, hostess with the most, for the fabulous filmmaker talk at @alicecinemafilm this evening! So cool to meet the amazing @samanthajukes and @keacomics, see their clever films - Our Glass and My Journey with FASD - and hear about the films’ inception and what went into making them! Thank you @joe_harrison_photo for the 📸 ❤️

Explore intriguing worlds that are just one step from reality and meet amusingly unusual characters in odd settings: a puppet having an existential crisis, two Kung Fu masters on a date, an artist searching for the perfect thrift-store find, and a poet trapped in a society that frowns on talking. It’s an inventive reverie you won’t want to wake from.

Westie friends, Show Me Shorts is coming to Titirangi tomorrow night 17 Oct. I’m hosting a session of The Sampler at Lopdell House starting at 7 pm. It’s a great collection of films. It’s currently about 2/3 full so bookings recommended, but there probably will be a few door sales available.

More details and tickets at the Show Me Shorts website.

Norway was named Show Me Shorts Country of Honour for 2026! 🙌

The New Zealand festival is showcasing a special collection of seven films from some of Norway’s most distinctive filmmakers, taking the audiences on a journey through beautiful fjords, mountains, rivers and trolls 🏔️🧌

The programme is proudly supported by the Norwegian Film Institute and the Norwegian Embassy 🇳🇴 Deputy Head of Mission, Erik Svedahl, attended the Festival Openings in Wellington and Auckland, as well as the following receptions 🇳🇿

Svedahl also introduced the Norwegian films Borderline and Trio, and relayed the Emabassy’s delight that the festival was showcasing the diversity and creativity of contemporary Norwegian filmmaking 🌟

Norwegian filmmaker, poet, author and translator, Odveig Klyve, also attended the Festival openings along with her partner Bjørn Leiv Gulbrandsen. Klyve presented her eight-minute documentary “Wind” reflecting on wind-energy infrastructure, nature and landscape 🎬

Thank you to the @showmeshorts team for a wonderful experience at the opening of the 2026 Festival last week!

Seeing double? You’re not alone! This week, our team was buzzing as we attended both the @showmeshorts Auckland Awards Ceremony and the Christchurch opening night on the same evening.

Our very own Cat Thomas flew North to present the Kōawa Studios Best Cinematographer Award which recognized the brilliant @tim_flower_ for “Socks”. While the rest of the team attended the Show Me Shorts opening night in Christchurch proudly sponsored by Kōawa Studios.

We’re thrilled to be a part of the 2026 Show Me Shorts Festival, spreading our message nationwide and building relationships while supporting the industry we are proud to be a part of. Huge congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you for having us at the opening night. 🎬✨

Don’t forget to buy your tickets to watch some amazing short films 🎟️
