different styles of comedy, saying he is not a big fan of Pakistani humour, as he feels much of it is derogatory and insulting. He also noted that he does not enjoy sexual comedies, adding, “People like it. Their choice. I don’t.”

Responding to his remarks, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani pointed out that comedy often draws from cultural stereotypes, mentioning examples such as jokes about Sindhis and Sardarjis. He questioned whether removing such elements would leave comedians with very little to joke about.

Arshad, however, maintained that while he has his own preferences, he also believes audiences should avoid becoming overly sensitive, concluding, “I think we all need to lighten up.”

The conversation has sparked debate online, with viewers discussing where the line should be drawn between harmless humour, cultural stereotypes, and offensive comedy.

Do you agree with Arshad Warsi’s perspective, or do you think comedy should have fewer boundaries? 🎭

I am still not ready for this—3 years of art, late nights, early mornings, endless traveling for a 2-second role, missing out on important events, not being able to show up for friends, all in all a lot of hustle, and still loving every bit of it! Grateful for all the support that the amazing publications have shown. Trying to process this, a lot more to go... 🥹🥹🥹
