🧡🖤 BEHIND THE SCENES | MEDIA DAY

🧡🖤 BEHIND THE SCENES | MEDIA DAY

It doesn’t always start on the court.

Sometimes it starts with music in the gym, cameras, laughter, conversations and a lot of good energy.

A great evening together, giving the players the chance to step outside their usual basketball role and show their personality, attitude and team spirit in front of the camera. 📸🏀

Behind every finished photo and video are people, relationships and countless small moments that help turn a group of players into a real team.

It’s the togetherness.
It’s the atmosphere.
It’s the moments we share.

ZION OBANLA | BK VEJEN @basketligaen_dk

Zion Obanla is taking his talents to Denmark. He’s signed with BK Vejen for the 2026-27 season. In his senior year at Maryland Eastern Shore, Zion averaged 10.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting 60.4% from the field, earning All-MEAC Second Team and 2026 HBCU All-Star Game invitation. At 6’8, Zion brings a rare blend of athleticism and versatility for his size, with defense standing out as one of the biggest calling cards of his game. Now he begins his professional career with BK Vejen for 2026-27.

“You trying to make your dream of becoming a pro or not?” That’s the standard Zion Obanla was held to at UMES.

Zion Obanla kept it real.
Coach Beckwith wasn’t letting anything slide pushing him every day: “Go get that rebound… you tryna make some money, right?”

That’s the difference between talking about it and being about it.

Nigeria was in the building at the HBCU All-Star Game 🇳🇬🏀

Great to see @showtimez_o & @joshhogundele representing — big pride for the diaspora and an incredible atmosphere celebrating HBCU basketball.

S/O to the visionary behind it @travislwilliams24. Definitely a vibe. Looking forward to next year.
