“If my fear has kept me here, only my fear can set me free” . “Damaged Goods,” one of my favourite La Dispute oldies, still resonates with me because of how it explores fear. It captures so much of what I wish I could articulate about what fear and anxiety feel like, and how they affect the people who experience them through someone else. The song feels like a letter in itself, one I wish I could send to people in my life. . Also: Haven’t done brush lettering in a hot minute, so this simple piece was fun to execute. @stephanelopes ’ notebook sketches were a big inspiration for me. . . . #LaDispute #DamagedGoods #HandLettering #GoodType #BrushLettering . @la_dispute @goodtype @showusyourtype @torontodesigndirectory @typism @dopetypesociety @typespire

Halloween Ambigram 02 of…who knows? 😬 . Here is the second Halloween ambigram, and it’s a gourd one! I am glad I carved out some time in my schedule to bring this one to life. 😉 As an added bonus, it’s perfectly timed for the Lettering Style Challenge that Auerlie Maron @aureliemaron has been conducting since the beginning of October, as the prompt for October 26th is ‘ambigram’! 😬 . Regarding the sketches - my initial final sketch (the first image after the vectored ambigram) is a little bit different than the end result. However, I thought it looked too neat and tidy, plus I had a great foundation for the ambigram where I could change a few details on the computer without having to go back to paper/pencil. . I am available for hire and actively job searching! Looking for full-time opportunities, but open to freelance projects, contract positions, and one-off lettering/ambigram commissions as well. Shoot me a message if you would like to work with me, and let’s talk! . P.S. If you want to learn more about ambigrams, sign up for the ambigram lecture that I’m conducting online TOMORROW!! at the Letterform Archive, Tuesday, October 27th. Check their events page or go to this link directly. https://letterformarchive.org/shop/rotate-the-art-of-the-ambigram/?sku=EVENT_LL_26-10-27-FR . #ambigram #notanambigram #typebynikita #typography #lsc26_26 © Nikita Prokhorov 2026

Halloween Ambigram 01 of…who knows? 😬 . Here is the first of several Halloween ambigrams I’ve been working on — will be sharing them from now until the end of the month. Not sure about this one…no matter how you look at it, I think it really bites! What do y’all think? 😉 . And of course, there are sketches. It is such an integral part of the process for me. I can count on one finger how many times I’ve gone straight to the computer without doing almost any sketches. . I am available for hire and actively job searching! 🐇 Swipe to go down the rabbit hole 👀 Does this poster make you feel like you're in Wonderland?👇🏻⁣ ✨ Join me for this year’s Lettering Style Challenge, where I’m creating a new poster every day, each in a unique style, for 31 book titles, from classics to modern bestsellers, and even some of my personal favorites! Today’s prompt was psychedelic, and I knew instantly that it had to be Alice in Wonderland! This just so happens to be one of my favorite books and movies of all time, and one of my favorite aesthetics too!⁣ ✨ I wanted to create something that felt like a hypnotic trip to Wonderland. So I used the Cheshire Cat colors of pinks and purples, a wavy warp on the letters, and a bit of a rabbit hole as the background. I tried to keep it simple enough to still be readable, but trippy enough to make you question the nature of your reality just a bit 🤔⁣ ✨ What do you think of this poster? Let me know 👇🏻⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 👽 #LetteringStyleChallenge2026 hosted by @aureliemaron @letteringstylechallenge⁣⁣⁣⁣ #letteringstylechallenge #letteringstylechallenge2026 #lsc26_18 Alice in Wonderland Typography Poster Design by Aurora Sky, created with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate. 🌿 Swipe & step into the garden! 👀 Have you ever read this book? 👇🏻⁣ ✨ Join me for this year's Lettering Style Challenge, where I'm creating a new poster every day, each in a unique style, for 31 book titles, from classics to modern bestsellers, and even some of my personal favorites! Today's prompt was cottagecore, and I knew I wanted to do The Secret Garden. It's a classic novel about a spoiled and lonely girl who transforms her life by restoring a locked, hidden garden. ⁣ ✨ While I definitely started out purely cottagecore, this one sort of drifted into art nouveau territory along the way. But ya know, I wasn't mad about it 😂 Sometimes you just have to go where the art is calling and this felt perfect for the book as well. So I just decided to lean into it and let this cottage be right in the middle of a nouveau garden 😂 ⁣ ✨ What do you think of this one? Let me know 👇🏻⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 👽 👽 #LetteringStyleChallenge2026 hosted by @aureliemaron @letteringstylechallenge⁣⁣⁣⁣ #letteringstylechallenge #letteringstylechallenge2026  #lsc26_13 The Secret Garden Typography Poster Design by Aurora Sky, created with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate. Lightshift is a monoline typeface. Monoline means the stroke keeps the same thickness from start to finish, like writing with a thick marker. You can check it in the loops: the line never gets thinner on the way round. Underneath it's a sans serif. The looped, handwritten-style letters in these slides are the extras you swap in, and one of them in a word is usually enough to change the mood of a logo. It comes in 4 styles: Regular, Round, Outline and Round Outline. Available at silverstagtype.com #TypeSTAr #displayfont #monoline

Greetings from New York City 🗽✨ Spending the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend exploring NYC for the first time. The energy, the architecture, the yellow cabs... it all lived up to the hype. Arcilla is Spanish for clay, and the name fits. It comes as 18 fonts: nine weights from Thin to Black, each with its own italic. It also comes as two variable fonts, one upright and one italic. A variable font is a single file with a weight slider, so you aren't limited to the named weights. If Semi Bold is too light and Bold is too heavy, you pick the point in between and shape it to the layout. The italic is its own drawing, with a calligraphic structure the upright doesn't have. Put the two w's side by side and you'll see two different letters. 40+ ligatures and alternates on top of that, including a second A for when a logo needs one odd letter. 💛 🖤 The Mosaic! Swipe to the end... It'll make your head spin 😵‍💫 What do you think of this one?? 👇🏻⁣ ⁣ ✨ When I saw mosaic on this year's Lettering Style Challenge prompt list, I was filled with excitement and a bit of fear 😅 I've actually done several mosaics over the years, but never one with lettering. But since I'm familiar with the process, I wanted to really push myself on this one.⁣ So I present to you... My first mosiac lettering AND the first one I created where the background didn't allow for any use of the symmetry feature, and I didn't just go for a pattern brush. ⁣ ✨ So yes, I did in fact, hand draw every single tile from the very top to the very bottom, a decision I questioned many times 😅 Drawing tiles is quite meditative, but after a few hours, it does start to make me wonder if I'm going a little insane hahaha (and a bit cross eyed 😂)⁣ ✨ I knew I'd be spending a lot of time with whatever book title I chose, so my favorite book this year, God of Fury by Rina Kent was a clear choice. While there were many points where I wasn't sure if this piece would ever see the light of day, I'm glad I stuck it out and am really happy with the final result! ⁣ ✨ What do you think of this mosaic? Can you guess how many pen strokes it took?? 👀 👇🏻 ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ @author_rina 👽 #LetteringStyleChallenge2026 hosted by @aureliemaron @letteringstylechallenge⁣⁣⁣⁣ #letteringstylechallenge #letteringstylechallenge2026  #lsc26_8 God of Fury by Rina Kent Hand Drawn Mosaic Digital Fauxsaic by Aurora Sky created with @procreate Geometric art.
