Ass Pizza. Therapy Session. Fashion Fwd Gallery.398 Broome St. Little Italy. July 7. Part 2. My first day at Therapy Session people were happily writing on walls. Filling up the empty spaces. And standing in line to offer their thoughts on creativity. And hearing Austin’s comments. All of which was recorded for the @asspizza Archive. The second visit felt different. Less adding parts to form a collage. More transforming a dense landscape. Into a flowing kaleidoscope. I focused less on the space and more on the individual artists. Like the person who patiently sat on the floor for close to an hour. Adding tiny silver pieces to a golden star. Or @eternallygeeking who flew in from Tucson. Found a white table on the way to the show. Used it to paint on the ceiling. And left it for others. Or @crunk_house_irl_ and @bestfriends.studio who wrapped @asspizza stars around a tee in Seattle. And then flew it here to join the the other stars on the wall. In all their layers of magic markers. Or skateboarder and model @shred.chris who transformed the yellow sidewalk sofa into ruby red. Which later disappeared. You could never see it all because it was happening all over the studio. All the time. Like endless pieces of dancing silver mercury. From imaginations from all over the world. This weekend Sat and Sun July 18 and 19 there will be more surprises. And screen printing. Bring your clothes to have a memory of this artistic whirlwind.
