💛🐴 Pixie & Poppy Spreading Joy at @shrinerschicago

Pixie and Poppy brought their sweet magic to Shriners Children’s Chicago today, filling the halls with smiles, courage, and a whole lot of mini‑horse love.

Pixie charmed everyone with her gentle snuggles, and Poppy — tiny, curious, and full of heart — proudly trotted from room to room making new friends. These kids are incredible, and we’re honored to share moments of comfort and connection with them.

5 hours in the car. One incredible day on the course. And a whole lot of heart behind it. ❤️⛳️

This week, Troy and I made the drive to Indiana to join our friends at Orak Shrine for their golf outing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We were honored to be there not only to enjoy a beautiful day of golf and fellowship, but more importantly, to help raise money and awareness for @shrinerschicago . Every swing, every conversation, every dollar raised helps support the incredible care and life-changing work being done for our Shriners kids. ❤️

And then… something completely unexpected happened. 😂 I played the best round of golf of my life! ⛳️🏌️‍♀️ I’m not saying I’m ready for the LPGA, but I’m also not not saying it. 😉😂

A huge thank you to everyone at Orak Shrine for welcoming us, putting on an incredible event, and supporting such an important cause. I’m looking at you @bossrailey ! We’re grateful for the friendships, the fellowship, the laughs, and the opportunity to continue making a difference together.
5 hours there, 5 hours home… and we would do it all over again. ❤️

One of the most common questions patients ask is also one of the most difficult to answer: "What will I look like after surgery?"

Emerging AI tools may soon bridge that gap—improving patient understanding and confidence in care decisions.

As Chad Purnell, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in craniofacial surgery and microsurgery at @shrinerschicago explains, while surgeons can often visualize outcomes internally, clearly communicating those outcomes to patients remains a challenge.

My Dad died of lung cancer early on August 12. Please do not smoke, vape, chew or anything else with tobacco.

He did not want a funeral or memorial service. Please donate to @shrinerschicago Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago. I was a patient there for congenital scoliosis and Klippel-Feil syndrome. I had spinal fusion surgery there just before my fourth birthday. This resulted in my trunk being unusually short as I got older. Different conditions, but I’m the human representation of the raccoon Jimothy that’s been all over the internet. Short spines and necks, but normal length arms and legs.

Bone from my pelvis was used to fuse most of my thoracic spine to stabilize the main curve. Shriner’s also takes care of follow up and check up care. I went there for x rays and check ups until I was 18. Kids can go until they are 21, I believe, and then they age out. All the care was free.

My dad was a small business owner, hiker, Geocacher, handyman, dog dad, national guard veteran, and so much more. We miss him.
