Recently one of my clients asked how things are going with my other clients. This was an unexpected question raised at the end of the session due to which I didn't get the chance to explore it more with her.
But it stayed with me and while introspecting I realised clients often see their therapists as the ideal. Someone who's got their life sorted, someone who knows how to deal with life effectively, someone who communicates their needs effortlessly. They put us on a pedestal, failing to realise we are humans too.
My clients needed to know about other clients to relate to others, to trivialise her issues. She needed a sense of belonging. Maybe I could use some self-revelation next time to open up my struggles with depression too.
But self-revelation is a tool to be used cautiously because at the end of the day it's not about me it's about my client. To me, she's the centre of attention.

So wish me all the luck for the next session. 🤞🤞🥰
Also if you wish to book a session with me kindly find the link in the bio. 🤗💐

Thank you for reading.

We don’t just love certain characters, we recognize ourselves in them.

I found pieces of myself in Aisha Banerjee:
In her quiet ambition, in her longing to become, in the way she built herself before she allowed herself to be seen.

And maybe that’s why that beach photograph means so much. The moment she finally lets Sid click her picture, she isn’t just posing for a camera, she’s stepping out from behind the versions of herself she once hid within. No more turning away, no more shielding her face from the world. Just presence. Just acceptance.

It feels like healing the kind that gently teaches you that being seen is not something to fear. That your face, your story, your becoming, deserve to take up space.

Sometimes, self-love looks like finally allowing yourself to be captured exactly as you are.
And for the first time, not wanting to look away. 🤍

As a final act of love, I'll mention your name in the Acknowledgement section of my dissertation/thesis. ♥️♥️

A special thanks to @__devapriya_._ for spending all the sleepless nights with me playing games on Plato, struggling to stay awake, snoozing all those alarms in the morning, cooking together, bitching about the supervisors and having those lil heart to heart conversations.
I love you my girl. I'll always be there for you and I know that you'll be there for me. 😘😘

And my baby @khushi__shah1 for always being that extrovert friend who just adopted me and I followed her like a pup everywhere. For always taking a stand for me, for always being extremely honest with me. From always being my last min "Maine abhi kuch nhi padhaa" buddy in exam seasons to helping me in finding male participants. You are that one person I could count on always. Love you 😘🥰

P.s: I know this song isn't about friendships it's about casual relationships. But I liked it so I used it. 😎
