Allez Cuisine!

Our buzzing Year 7-9 chefs competed for the top spot in the annual @southislandchef Finals. With 2 spots in the ESF Chef competition on the line, our contestants were asked to create a restaurant-worthy, classic, yet creative 🇮🇹🍝Italian dish🍝 🇮🇹 showing the use of protein.

We were fortunate and honoured to welcome our guest judge, executive chef from @picihk of the @piratagrouphk, Chef Davide Borin, for this final round. Chef Borin was impressed by the skills and talent of our students.

• 1st place: 🐯Namas🐯 - Alessia & Reagan - Spicy prawn bisque risotto with king prawn and scallop
• 2nd place: 🐻Bahay🐻 - Carissa & Patrick - Italian herb-crusted chicken with hand-rolled cavatelli pasta in spicy tomato sauce
• 3rd place (tied): 🐲Kuca🐲 - Lara & Hannah
• 3rd place (tied): 🐕Casa🐕 - Hana - Stuffed peppers and ricotta crepe manicotti
• Honourable Mention: 🦈Shtepi🦈 - Kourtney & Dana
• Honourable Mention: 🐻Bahay🐻 - Max & Amelie

Students won gift vouchers for Pici with the 1st and 2nd place teams moving forward to ESF Chef at RCHK on 31 May to represent the SIS against other ESF schools.

All students worked incredibly hard, and we are amazed to see how talented our Year 7, 8 and 9 students are! A big well done to them all, and we look forward to even greater entries next year!

Last Tuesday, our Year 7 to Year 9 students had a fantastic opportunity to collaborate and show their creativity, as they 🕺danced💃their hearts out at the annual Family Bauhinia Dancefest!

To wrap up an eventful first term, Ms Nicholas and Mr Thums, along with lots of help from our House Leadership Team, organise an exciting dance-off from all of our Family Bauhinia tutor groups.
With great individual performances and many intricate group dances, our students pulled out all the stops for this event.

Congratulations to 🐻@bahaybears 🐻, who despite having to perform separately due to technical issues, served up all the other houses and was crowned the winner of this year’s interhouse competition!

@sis_interhouse Y9 Benchball

Last Friday our Y9 students had their first Interhouse competition of the year...BENCHBALL! Great efforts from all our Y9 participants and amazing guidance from our House Captains!

The energy was palpable in the gym as the Houses cheered each other on! In the end, @casacoyotes_ took home first place followed by @maisonminotaurs, @shtepisharks, @kucadragons, @namastigers, and @bahaybears

Interhouse continues this week on Friday with another round of Benchball, this time with the Year 8s. See you there!
