✨THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨

Feeling super #nostalgic about this weekend in NC for @ritmo_dance_social 🫠 with my BESTIE @dj_julio_sabroso ✨

In 2012 my former partner and I debuted this routine up there @rodrigoandwendy event. We had just come up with it the weekend before putting in 20 hours in 3 days and then driving up to showcase it 😱

Was it crazy? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely. To this day, still my favorite routine. (And yes it IS a bachata 🤣).
Enjoy 🥰

I have always loved science. It is one of the reasons I went into healthcare. So, it is often concerning when I see so many people on these apps questioning facts, and even worse, recommending things that have no evidence to back it up, can be harmful and can be a grift for said person to make money.

On the flip side, I get that when it comes to things like women’s health, the science is lacking to say the least. Our healthcare system in the US is broken, which leaves people to become Phds in their body to figure out what the heck is going on.

As I always say, try to stick to evidence based materials. Talk to experts. Get second opinions. A lot of information can be found in books, and the library is free. And librarians are the OGs of “doing your own research.”

Social media can be a great way to learn. I have had many patients who learned about pelvic floor therapy from this app, but I have also met many people who followed not great advice because an influencer said it was the key to all that ails you. Health is sadly never that easy.

Oh, hi, 2016 Abby 👋😊 I see someone who brave, but also full of fear. Someone who was obsessed with dancing and leapt at any opportunity to perform. I see a young and unsure entrepreneur, with two years of success under her belt, yet without truly believing she ‘made it.’ I see someone who loves and cherishes her friends and family and who’s only baby was a dog 🐶 I see someone who dreamt of seeing a woman in the White House. I got waaaay out of my comfort zone and tried improv. Three levels. The city was smaller, and so was I. I remember how 2016 stretched me personally and professionally. Looking back, it honestly wasn’t my favorite year. I remember a number of mistakes I made, but, on the flip side the seeds of so much growth. ❤️ #2016

Today, we were part of an amazing community event focused on gearing up for the upcoming school season. We had music, bounce house, backpacks, supplies, care kits, chips and drinks.
The highlight was meals courtesy of @cfariverlanding
The event not only marked the start of the school year but also brought the community closer together. Watching the happiness on the faces of children as they enjoyed the festivities warmed our hearts. Beyond the fun, this event showcased the unity and support within our community. Being part of today’s event was truly fulfilling.
