Everyone should stand with the detainees at Folkston ICE Processing Center that have been on hunger strike for over 12 days!

On Sunday, community members and activists held a 24-hour hunger strike in solidarity at the Georgia Capitol. Their fight is our fight — a fight to demand justice for all immigrants and an end to ICE terror.

The demands:
• No retaliation against hunger-striking detainees!
• Immediate release of all immigrants detained at Folkston! End prolonged detention and inhumane conditions!
• Shut down Folkston ICE Processing Center! Fund public schools and healthcare, not ICE!
• ICE out of GA! Asylum and full rights for all immigrants!

🚘Today nearly a hundred people from across Florida and Georgia converged at the Folkston ICE Processing Center to stand in solidarity with hunger strikers on the twelfth day of their strike!

‼️The fight doesn’t end here, we won’t stop until hunger strikers demands of immediate release, due process, and an end to the abuse are met and ultimately FIPC is SHUT DOWN.

For over 12 days, immigrant detainees at the Folkston ICE Processing Center in Georgia have been on a hunger strike, refusing food in protest of horrific conditions inside the facility, prolonged detention, and retaliation by guards.

They are on a hunger strike for all of us - they are demanding justice for all immigrants and an end to ICE terror.

We are organizing this 24-hour hunger strike in Atlanta from 9AM Sunday to 9AM Monday at the Georgia Capitol to take this courageous strike beyond the iron bars, the barbed wire fences, prison guards, and break the isolation faced by our immigrant brothers and sisters in South Georgia!

Our demands:
• No retaliation against hunger-striking detainees!
• Immediate release of all immigrants detained at Folkston!
End prolonged detention and inhumane conditions!
• Shut down Folkston ICE Processing Center! Fund public schools and healthcare, not ICE!
• ICE out of GA! Asylum and full rights for all immigrants!

➡️ Join us for any amount of time for the 24-hr hunger strike or participate from home or work if you cannot join in person but make a post about it on social media and tag us at @pslatlanta
