Last night, Shutter Theory played their second to last show ever. It’s tearing my heart apart knowing that this band is coming to an end. We formed the summer going into my freshman year of high school and since then we have spent countless hours playing, writing, sweating, crying, and bleeding together, with the only goal of being able to truly express ourseleves. Words will never be able to explain how much Neil, Jack, Sachin, and the band as a whole mean to me. Being in a band has been the best part of my life and I strongly encourage anyone who’s reading this to go START A BAND. You’ll have the time of your life.
We played our first “real” show (some may remember us playing before this but that doesn’t count and if you were there then you know why) at the Ottobar in August of 2023 and… it was definetly something. But I remember after the show ended feeling like I was on top of the world, and I knew that it was the start of the best thing ever. This upcoming Sunday (August 9th) we are playing our final show ever. It’s at the ynot lot in Baltimore and all the proceeds will be going to Saint Vincent DePaul of Baltimore to help fight homelessness. We’ve been preparing for this show for an extremely long time. Our entire hearts have been poured into it. I encourage you all to come. As well as preparing for our last show, we have been writing and recording our final project which will come out later this year. It has been such an insanely beautiful and unforgetable ride. I hope to see everyone there on Sunday.
