Hey y’all, my name is Shyan! I am a senior and a part of the Spring ’20 TMA Cohort 💕
•
I come from a place where I was one of the only Black kids. Growing up, I didn’t see my community represented in the media and didn’t realize what an impact that would have on me until I got older. I want to change that for future generations.
•
TMA opened many doors for me, such as becoming an @irts.foundation Conferee. IRTS allowed me to become a more confident media leader and surrounded me with diverse individuals who will be changing the media landscape. IRTS has opened my eyes to many opportunities and possibilities, and TMA has taught me the skills I need in order to execute my jobs with precision and analytical thinking.
•
While I still struggle with imposter syndrome myself, I want you to know that you are here for a reason and to never give up on your dreams. Your dreams in the media industry not only change your life, but also set a new standard for many future generations
