I’ve always felt like I’ve been at war with my body.

Whether it’s trying to make it move a certain way, as a dancer.

Manipulating it through extreme dieting and exercise, to gain acceptance from a society that dictates you need to look a certain way.

Using it as a way to attract the opposite sex, in an attempt to hold onto love and affection.

Being afraid of receiving that breast cancer diagnosis, just like the women in my family before me.

AND, spending years trying to get pregnant, and stay pregnant.

Being frustrated and feeling betrayed that my body wasn’t doing what “it was created” to do.

Over the years, we’re taught that we need to control our body, rather than listen to it.

To distrust it, in favor of leaning into our intuition.

We move farther and farther away from who we are.

And instead, mold ourselves into something we feel we need to be…in order to be loved and accepted.

But in order to stop the struggle, we need to peel away the layers of self-judgement, disconnect from society pressure, forgive ourselves, and…

BECOME WHOLE AGAIN.

It helps to do that in circle with other women.

In celebration of my latest book (written alongside 9 other amazing women), we’ll be holding a book club.

Our goal is to start the conversations, so we can break these unhealthy patterns.

Not just for ourselves, but also for those who walk behind us.

Grab a copy of our book before Christmas, and all proceeds from the sale go to @shyne_global who support survivors of human s*x trafficking.

To find out where to purchase your copy, and sign up for our bookclub (kicks off 1 November), send me a DM or comment BECOMING WHOLE AGAIN, below.
