I am excited to share "This Land," our new rendition of Woody Guthrie’s "This Land Is Your Land," created in collaboration with @sibabeats beats. Siba’s chordal, cinematic production style brings a calm and assertive R&B and Hip-Hop energy to this new melody. Originally written as a radical protest against economic inequality, Guthrie's composition has long been co-opted.  Folks (like me) find the lyric- "this land was made for you and me"-ignores Indigenous land dispossession. That is precisely why it is so important for this consequential song to be reimagined by and for the communities that have faced displacement and discrimination.
