…and we’re back to our regularly scheduled shorts programming. Also, is anything over 15 years-old considered vintage these days? Because if so, I’m vintaged out!

From the top:

- Frames: @robertlaroche
- T-shirt: @uniqlo @keithharingfoundation
- Shorts: @levis custom (meaning paint-splattered, and appropriated, from when my SF apartment was painted)
- Socks: @uniqlo
- Shoes: @converse
- Location: @sibylgallery with art from @neilhancock

This morning a mockingbird flew over me making the sound of a siren. It was like a drawing with sound.

A FOR LEASE sign on a house in my neighborhood reminded me that I am a grown-up and I have no idea what it means to lease a house. Then I started listing the things I don't know in my mind. In my mind the list was written in sharpie.

Last night I went to an opening and the paintings looked like drawings and the sculptures that were also lamps were also drawings.

Maybe today everything is like a drawing. And I will write and erase the word over and over until it makes no sense. Until there's a hole in the paper.

Sunday morning, easy-peasy

But I was telling Benny what Holland Cotter said about taste being a form of habit and habit being inherently conservative.

There is also something about being drawn to one thing intuitively when a different thing better reflects the strongest unnamed feeling within you in a given moment.

I have always liked things from a distance and things surrounded by white space. Looking at airplanes and skateboarding and the moon (like everyone).

But some days everything feels up too close or crowded or compressed. In those moments I still like to look at people on roofs or a gas station in the desert (as "taste" may suggest), but the the opposite image/composition/density says "I get it. I got you."

My point is "taste" is only so useful.

Ha that probably makes no sense. Plus also too additionally I have no more storage@space on any of my devices.

TODAY on my Substack Disco Nola, I posted a few thoughts about 2-person shows featuring the work of @devries.paige and @madgkelly .

"To what degree has the artist managed to block out the noise of influence, career
moves, scene vibes, approval seeking, and say one true thing about the way they see the world."
