POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last week in the church we celebrated @sickleavepress first sole-authored book ‘Either Way You Lose’ by Patrick Hunn, a cathartically absurd and intimidatingly clever collection of short stories that had us cackling in the pews. Now available at Oddaný Bookstore, open Thursdays 12-4, and during exhibitions.

It’s the very final hours of our 2026 EOFY donations campaign. Here we have seventeen outstanding endorsements from some of our long-time contributors, supporters, and past staff members. In an incredible turn of events, we have now exceeded the target we set for ourselves, and at the time of writing, we are looking at around $15,000 in donations. With just over nine hours remaining before EOFY, we’re hoping to reach $20,000–and we need your help to get there. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your incredible support. There are just a few hours left to donate to help us sustain our contributor and staff wages throughout 2027. We can keep going, with your support. Head to the link on our profile today. Let’s do it together, The Overland team

Such a lovely big buzzy crowd at the launch of @sickleave__ The Long Poem! Long poems were read. The beautiful artwork on the cover is by artist John Foubister whose work is the subject of one is the long poems. I am very happy to have a long poem in the issue along with others. Thanks Sick Leave for making space for we who tend to the verbose. Reading the issue is actually so lovely! Slow and soft kind of campfire vibes. Get a copy and enjoy 🔥❤️

🌟 Super Naari Icon - Audre Lorde Poet, activist, and fierce advocate for justice — Audre Lorde’s legacy continues to shape how we think about intersectionality, identity, and power. Her work reminds us that silence is violence, and that difference is not a defect. From her impassioned poetry to her uncompromising ethics, she asked us to: ✅Speak our truths, even when our voices shake ✅Embrace every part of ourselves — race, gender, sexuality, body ✅Resist injustice not only for ourselves but for all marginalized people “Your silence will not protect you.” — Audre Lorde Let’s carry her words into action: challenge exclusion, uplift marginalized voices, and build a more just world.
