The dust has settled, and it’s time to recognize the Gophers who raised the bar this year.

While we’re incredibly proud of the collective effort from the entire squad, these boys excelled and set the standard for what it means to wear the jersey.

Spring 7’s Season in Review:

We’d first like to thank our incredible supporters. Whether you were one of our excellent guest coaches, a participant in the alumni game, a parent or family member who supported your player, or a donor to the team, it takes all of you to help make this club possible. We are endlessly grateful for what all of you do and could not have had such a wonderful season without that support. Thank you.

Our Maroon side squad had an amazing year finishing up 7th place at CRAA Nationals in Iowa City beating tough opponents such as Missouri and UHSP. They were also HOA Runner-ups for the second year in a row, gaining victories against talented squads from Kansas State, Iowa, and Wayne State. This is the best finish for the squad in recent memory and we look forward to continuing to build off that momentum next season.

Our Gold side also had a great year and were able to travel to several tournaments across Minnesota like Mav Fest, Mallard Fest, and the Carleton Cup. They picked up several wins against a strong St. Thomas side and showed immense improvement as the season progressed.

We capped off the year with our annual alumni game and banquet. It was a great time seeing the past and future of Gopher Men’s Rugby collide and it’s always fun being able to celebrate this club with competitive games of both 15’s and 7’s. Thanks to everyone who came out to play with us or just to support the club!

Special Thanks as well to those who took pictures and video for the club:

This past season was huge for the club both on and off the field and we are incredibly excited about what the future holds for Gopher Rugby. Thank you again to all of our supporters. Ski-U-Mah!
