sidebody is Hava Horowitz, Lena Warnke, Martha Schnee and Cara Giaimo. They are known for their electric high-energy performances, four part harmonies, and unique DIY pop-art-rock sound, and were dubbed the “funnest band at Boston Calling” by Boston.com

Gabriella Simpkins is an award-winning singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Cape Cod, MA. Informed by experience across many genres and performance settings, her music
exists at the intersections of folk, classical, jazz, and indie rock.

The vibes were incredible at Rat****** 3, put on by the wonderful @yardworkproductions. Shout out to the crew for letting me come and document it for fun. The community involved in making this happen is truly special and y'all should definitely come next year.

i’ve been struggling to find the words to describe how meaningful this weekend was for me. mostly it felt surreal. surreal to be in the crowd as a music fest that i worked on for 6+ months with seven of my friends unfolded in front of me. surreal to fan girl over bands that i myself booked. surreal to build a fucking giant rain proof stage with the homies lol. seeing so many aspects of this thing come together and run so smoothly was a tangible reminder of how many team members, volunteers, and contributors it has; it was a beautiful thing to witness and there are so many thank yous to go around. i walked away from this weekend feeling so proud + emotional + empowered after seeing what we can accomplish together when we put our whole hearts into it.

this weekend is also a forced moment of reflection on my own life. in the last two years, i’ve gotten to do some things that i’ve wanted to do for very long. i’ve volunteered at two ratch*ll*s and helped organize a third. i’ve started shooting more shows, i’ve started writing about music, and i got my first chance to book a few bands. so many new beginnings, but also some very trying experiences in these two years. i came out, started transitioning. then went through a mental health crisis, and then shortly after, a separation + divorce. i had some very lonely moments, but managed to rebuild my community and surround myself with so many amazing people that are genuinely aligned with my values in a way that i never quite have before. people that lift me up and empower me to do the things that both excite and scare me. being a part of ratch*ll* is a huge part of that, plus boston diy as a whole and of course befriending the coolest and sweetest queers of somerville. this community that i’ve found has legitimately changed my life. today, like so many days in the last year, i’m filled with so much gratitude that i get to live ~this~ life, that i get to be surrounded by ~this~ community. there is so much greatness here. love u. lexi

we kick off the fest THIS SATURDAY, 8/22, at 2PM sharp! This is the kind of lineup that to be honest, you’re gonna want to be at the whole damn thing.
so many homies, and so many homies to be made.

Stoked to announce the return of Tiberius OG @a_paper_nautilus on drums for this one. playing some newies & some oldies.

it’s been a summer of non stop mayhem (in the best way) & I don’t think I could think of a better way of finishing it off, than with all the pals made from along the way.
