Softly and sweetly Autumn shows her face, arriving as if by over night. Mornings are spent wrapped and enveloped in knitwear, yet the sun still enough to make afternoons balmy. The fire is lit again, trees are on the turn, showering gold. There is a different sort of abundance that comes with the arrival of autumn. It is a time to be savoured and cherished for all that it brings.

We are having a lush autumnal day in the shop today. Candle lit, cosy books a plenty and unpacking some beautiful seasonal Toverlux silhouettes.

I have been so busy with the little ones I have only just realised I missed our two year birthday (or 39 year birthday depending on how you look at it!🎈)

On October 5th 2024, we launched the revived Southover Gallery with a whole house pop up. We invited our friends across the town to take part and take over a corner of the house each. It was incredible watching the house transform into a giant shop, complete with a bathroom boot sale and tarot readings on the rooftop!

As cycles seem to run in sevens, this day 7 years ago, marks the first time I tried an at home pop up in our house in Islington. This one was in London and I invited my friends @partnershipeditions @anewtribe @anakerin.studio @furukiyokimonovintage @lauravonbehrvintage @oceanbottle @26grains @therestory_ and more to be part of the fun. At the time it was a bit naughty as we were living in Matt's parents house and I'm not sure I asked permission to turn the house into a shop for the day until it was too late.. I suppose this is where I got my ideas for the pop ups we run today! Swipe to the very end to see our group shot in the garden of our then house.

This morning, Matt's phone flashed up a memory and reminded us that this very same day 2 years before the London pop up, I was speaking on The Today Program, interviewed at the crack of dawn about Capsule Wardrobes. I was told about the opportunity by my then company, the night before and with no time to prepare, by 5am I was in a taxi on route to the BBC, an hour later I was live on hour speaking to millions about why a capsule wardrobe really is all we need 😂
