. Sidequest is a Belgian multidisciplinary collective of artists and designers known for experimental, boundary-pushing artist furniture and interior objects. Operating at the intersection of art and functional design, the group serves as an alternative creative playground outside of their traditional commercial constraints.

Triangle of Love takes the form of a green-lacquered cabinet, while Pink Pony Chair is a compact aluminium seat. Familiar furniture typology is reduced and distorted into emphatically graphic objects in which function, colour, material and visual presence constantly exchange roles.

Triangle of Love and Pink Pony Chair were part of our exhibition Cavea, which explored the symbiosis between people, things, machines and nature.

WUNDERKAMMER REIMAGINED takes place at THE GET by GLENN SESTIG in Ghent and offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the historical cabinet of curiosities, created in collaboration with UPPERCUT.

The WUNDERKAMMER, which emerged in Renaissance Europe, served as a space where objects from various fields could coexist. People gathered natural specimens, artworks, scientific instruments, rare materials, and unusual artefacts out of curiosity, personal interest, and a desire to create connections between seemingly unrelated items.

At THE GET, this principle drives an exploration of contemporary design. Objects are grouped by their individual characteristics, material presence, and ability to create associations that extend beyond their immediate functions. The exhibition brings together different forms, disciplines, and histories within the architectural context crafted by GLENN SESTIG, curated by SCOTT LIPPENS.

WUNDERKAMMER REIMAGINED views collecting as an active process of observation. An object’s value lies in the relationships it forms with its surroundings. Consequently, the exhibition functions as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, where design is experienced through accumulation, contrast, and the potential for discovery.

⭑ 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐖𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐈 ⭑

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

Europe feels like a fairytale that has forgotten how it ends. I want to cut it’s belly open so we can see what has been rotting inside all this time.

For 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐖𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐈 I am building a Versailles-style bunker on the brink of the end times: a last sanctuary of decadence before the abyss. A place where beauty, nostalgia and catastrophe dance together.

Think Panamarenko-pig. The propaganda version of Marie Antoinette. Mozart on a pianoforte. Inbred aristocrats. Gargantua. Neverland. Vomit. Maximalism. A Jacuzzi. Innocence. Winged monkeys. Revolution.
