Here is what the road has thought me,

1. 🔧 Know the minimum maintenance on your bike (oil change, brakes…etc) it’s not about being cheap, it’s about understanding the bike.

2.🧠 Know your power before doing dumb stuff

3. 👀 Always think that every driver is distracted.

4. 📹 Spend the money and get a camera/chin mount/insta360… as much as you can get cool clips it’s basically a dash cam for your bike.

5. 🧰 Always keep a quick set of tools in your bag, a couple of Allen keys, 2 sizes of ratchets, a knife and some zip ties can go a long way.

6. ⚠️ Trust your gut/sense. I don’t know how many times my senses told me some idiot was just cruising in my blind spot… and they were.

7. 🛡️ ALWAYS DRIVE DEFENSIVELY, you are on a motorcycle on a road full of cars. Know the blind spots of cars and trucks and stay out of them, speed a bit if you have to. Don’t feel safe in the situation? Drop a gear and get out.

8. 🚪 Always give yourself an escape route, always assume something can happen and plan your way out of it. Think before not after

9. 🛣️ Know the road; don’t fly into a corner when you don’t know how that corner bends and turns.

10. 🏁Every ride isn’t a race, especially when you are with friends, it’s extremely easy to want to push the bike to it’s limits and race with people, but know when and we’re to do it; and 🚫under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you punch it when when you dont feel comfortable or your gut is telling you NO.
