POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday I dropped off some vinyl records of my self-titled debut album at two Charlottesville, Virginia based record shops.

Hello Goodbye Records (@hello.goodbye.cville) and Sidetracks Music (@sidetracksmusic) are kind enough to carry my record in stores.

What does that mean for you? Well, if you are living in central Virginia or driving down the I-64 and would like a copy of my debut album but don’t want to pay shipping you can stop in, say hi, and buy a copy.

I want to extend a huge thank you to both record stores for having not just myself, but other Virginia based musicians on their shelves, it really means a lot to us!

Also if you stop in, make sure you tell them I said hi!

Most people know David Byrne from Talking Heads.

But this is a different side of him.

“Loco de Amor” comes from Rei Momo, an album inspired by Latin rhythms, Afro-Cuban music, salsa, merengue, and cumbia.

Rei Momo was recorded with many renowned Latin musicians, including members of Celia Cruz‘s and Rubén Blades’ bands. Byrne didn’t simply borrow Latin rhythms—he immersed himself in them, making one of the most authentic crossover albums by a rock artist of its era.

Song discovery 🎧

Some songs were just made to be played loud.

What I Like About You still has that same energy decades later —
simple, catchy, and impossible to sit still to.

Just great rock & roll.

Song discovery 🎧

Some songs don’t need lyrics to say something.

Classical Gas is one of those.

Beautiful guitar work, great energy,
and somehow still fresh all these years later.

One of those tracks that instantly puts you in a better mood.

A song you should know 🎧

If you like U2, this is one you shouldn’t skip.

A Day Without Me — from their first album — has that early raw energy before everything got bigger and more polished.

Less commercial.
More direct.
Still very U2.

One of those tracks that feels simple, but sticks with you.

Album discovery 🎧

I’ll be honest…

I wasn’t a big fan of this album at first.

Maybe I just wasn’t ready for how much U2 kept changing their sound.

But coming back to Zooropa now…

Different, experimental, and way ahead of its time.

One of those albums you grow into.

Treasure hunting finds 🎯

Couldn’t believe this one…

Fragile by Yes — and not just one copy.

A 1971 original press… and a newer remastered version.

Same album, two different ways to hear it.

One raw and classic.
One clean and detailed.

That’s the beauty of collecting.
