POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last night in St Albans was wonderful. An incredible audience made the show a delight. Even more special was the fact that in the audience was a lady called Sue James. Her dad was the incomparable Sid James and she knows of my love of the Carry On films (I recorded a podcast with @mikemuncer about every single one of them). She was kind and generous and we chatted about how much her dad meant to me. Especially last year, when I lost my Dad, watching the Carry On films was a glimmer of joy during sad times, and it was very special to talk to her. We’re going to meet up next year for a proper catch up and she gave me an original publicity photo of Sid which I’ll treasure forever. These are the moments on tour that are unexpected and quite magical. I’m back in St Albans in February next year and I can’t wait. A night to remember. @sidjamesofficial.

It’s D.D. Day! ❤️🎬
The devine DIANA DORS was born on this day 95 years ago: here with some lunchtime fun with her good chum SID JAMES in IS YOUR HONEYMOON REALLY NECESSARY (1953), a glorious bit of #BritishFilm fluff from Adelphi Films. #ComedyHistorian #DianaDors #Comedy #SidJames @sidjamesofficial

Having fallen foul of evil doings in Winnerden Flats in the Hammer Films classic Quatermass 2 (1957), SID JAMES was reflecting Television science-fiction paranoia in Hancock’s Half Hour: The Horror Serial right there on BBC TV on 30th January 1959.
We adore this production photograph. Obviously! 🤡👽🤡 #Comedy #Horror for our Hallowe’en Countdown. 17 Days to go… #SidJames #ComedyHistorian #Halloween @sidjamesofficial

🎬🎙️ Celebrating the unforgettable Sidney James on his birthday today!

In this special Reel, I read a quote from my book *Sid James: Cockney Rebel* — and if you’ve ever wondered why it’s called *Cockney Rebel*… you’ll have to read the book to discover the real story behind the title. 😉

A true comedy legend whose laugh, charisma, and down to earth spirit made him one of Britain’s most beloved stars.
