Hey I’m Sienna Tatos your WSU Pre-Vet Club President! Going into veterinary medicine is a passion and what has driven my life. This year I will take over the President position for the Pre-Vet club. I’m a current sophomore with junior academic standing as I transferred through the running start program right out of high school. I’m doing an Animal Science major with a minor in Chemistry. Large animal is my focus with a special interest on equine. This summer I am interning at Affordable Pet Care, a local small animal clinic. I’m learning many technical skills and building those hours! On the side I’m working with Herin Hill Polo as a horse groomer. For my job shadowing hours, I’m tagging along at Pilchuck Equine Hospital! I have close to 1500+ hours of animal experience and now 600+ clinical hours. It started in high school with volunteering at Purrfect Pals and working at Camano Island Kennels and Camano Veterinary Clinic. During my first year in Pullman I worked at the Veterinary Teaching hospital as a barn crew member, volunteered at Orphan Acres, and did research at the Knotts Dairy Center. Keep fighting for those animal opportunities and make yourself stand out. My advice is to always reach out even if you don’t even expect a response. I’ve grown up with small animals and have gained all my large animal hours through work, school, and volunteering. Outside of academics I am an avid horseback rider and enjoy reading, crocheting, volleyball, and hiking! Other clubs Ive been involved with are the WSU Equestrian team, Chemistry club, Disease Diagnostic Club, and the raptor club. I grew up in Stanwood WA and have goals of specializing in horses, especially surgery. Stay active, be involved, and don’t let opportunities go by. Really excited to meet all the new members:) I hope to see you all during our meetings and will sit down and chat if you have any questions, thank you!

Today, we handed over the @wsuprevetclub to the newly elected officers, and it feels so good! I can proudly say without hesitation that I am so proud of myself for a job well done! Cheers to the growth of the club and my personal growth within it. I would like to especially thank my president, @jillian_grace05 , for being the backbone of our club! I am stunned by what an amazing leader you are! You carry the whole club so well and have truly stepped up the game to the next level. I can’t wait to see you succeed and become an amazing vet in the future. You are the kind of vet I want to work with someday! I’m also grateful for the incredible members who share the same passion for veterinary medicine. You are all amazing, and I consider myself lucky to have you as club members and eventually become my friends. One of you is actually my roommate, which has made this journey even more special! Thank you to the entire Pre-Vet Club officers! We survived this year! We did great! To the new officers, I believe in you! I know you will do amazing things and, for sure, far better than we did! I have my line open if you have any questions! Paul, your WSU Pre-Vet Club Vice President, signing off and heading to vet school this September!
