What I would do for one more bus ride. One more team huddle. One more “Highland on three.”
Another “last” I wasn’t ready for. Four years later, and it’s over.
I’ve dreaded making this post from the moment I realized just how much Highland Softball meant to me- not just as a team, but as a family. From starting freshman year as the quiet shadow following the older girls around, to now watching my little sister become my shadow, this program has given me more than I could ever put into words.
Highland Softball taught me lessons that go far beyond the game and I will forever be grateful for that. The friendships, the memories, the uncontrollable laughter, the quiet tears, the early mornings, late nights, and every moment in between will stay with me forever. Stepping off the field for the last time alongside these 3 seniors specifically was such a bittersweet experience because all I saw was 4 little girls after an 8U game racing to ask if we could get ice cream.
No matter where life takes me, a part of my heart will always belong to Highland Softball.
