Happy Thanksgiving, Scottsdale! 🦃🧡

Today we are feeling extra grateful for you — the Scottsdale community! Without you parks and recreation would not be what it is. Our community is bright and thriving because of the people in it. We appreciate your continued support as we aim to make Scottsdale an even better place to live, work and play. 🌳🌟

We also want to thank our amazing staff! From maintenance workers to recreation leaders and upper management, we thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to make Scottsdale Parks and Recreation operate and thrive for our community. 🤗

We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend. ✨

Anyone else catch the subway today?

Located in Red Rocks Secret Mountain Wilderness. Sedona, Arizona. We took the Boynton Canyon Trail and hiked to Boynton Canyon. About an 8 mile round trip of Siggi steppers. (that includes the side trail to Subway Cave)

This hike is soft on your feet with a canopy of trees which help shade you from the desert sun. If you plan to turn at the alligator juniper tree up to the cave it can be more challenging with some exposed tree roots and overgrown brush. The climb into the cave is not for the faint of heart but there is two access points to choose from. Be mindful that it still gets hot and cold depending when and what time of year you’re going, so plan ahead using sunscreen, layers and good judgement.

A few more tips,

- Download a map prior to entering the wilderness as you might lose service, I like to use the alltrails app!

- Bring plenty of water… when you’re 1/2 way finished with your water supply it’s best to turn around and hike back out.

- Always let someone know your plan and stay safe!

A little glimpse behind the scenes of my latest drawing!

This one means a lot—it’s inspired by someone I’ve loved and admired for years @baybayhay 🩷🌸🥺
One of the few YouTubers I personally still follow and watch for a years now , and she’s been a constant source of light and inspiration.
What do you think of this tribute?
