It’s time for another installment of #madonnavinylfriday hosted by my friend @pesodelrey . This week I am highlighting Madonna’s single ‘Miles Away’, released in 2008 as the third and final single off her ‘Hard Candy’ album. This introspective dance-pop song is more than likely based on her relationship with, then husband, director Guy Ritchie.

‘Miles Away’ failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but scored Madonna her seventh consecutive No. 1 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart. In the UK market, it was her lowest charting single in thirty-four years. In Japan, it was the best-selling digital single for the year!

Music makes the people come together… and wait for Confessions II! 🤠✨

It’s #madonnavinylfriday by @pesodelrey and I’m spinning the masterpiece that is MUSIC. Can you believe we are only ONE WEEK away from the release of Confessions II? The excitement is hitting a fever pitch and honestly, living in the “Madonnaverse of Madness” right now is the best place to be. What a time to be a fan! 👑

Looking back at the Music era, it was pure genius. From the legendary Brixton Academy show (remember her wearing that Britney Spears T-shirt? Iconic! 👕) to the chaotic joy of the Music video with Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen). We got fan favorites like Don’t Tell Me and the cinematic What It Feels Like For A Girl.

Speaking of which… I am still completely obsessed with “Lo Que Siento La Mujer” (the Spanish version). There’s just something about that vibe that hits different. 🔥

Spinning this classic is the only way to survive the final countdown until Confessions II drops and changes our lives all over again. 💿💖

It’s time for another installment of #madonnavinylfriday hosted by my friend @pesodelrey . This week I am highlighting Madonna’s album ‘I’m Breathless’, released in 1990. This jazz-pop infused masterpiece gets overlooked, but it’s in my Top 3 personal favorite Madonna albums of all time.

Madonna has crafted an enjoyable musical trip back to the days of gangsters and their tough as nails, and sometimes vulnerable, broads. Madonna played into that role so well as Breathless and her vocal stylings are a reflection of that. I don’t see this as a soundtrack, but rather a stand-alone studio album and should be counted as such. Madonna’s vocals showed her versatility as an artist and a dedication to deliver something different and daring. As fans, we wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s Breathless…indeed!

It’s time for another installment of #madonnavinylfriday hosted by my friend @pesodelrey . This week I am highlighting Madonna’s single ‘Human Nature’, released in 1995 this R&B, hip hop infused song would be the last release from Madonna’s ‘Bedtime Story’ album.

The song was a banger, in the sense it unapologetically took on the critics who publicly flogged her for her earlier sexually charged trifecta, ‘Erotica’, the ‘Sex’ book and ‘Body of Evidence’ film. In true Madonna fashion she turned the tables, held up that mirror and made us all look at ourselves, exclaiming, ‘I’m not sorry, it’s human nature’. It’s time for #madonnavinylfriday hosted by my friend @pesodelrey and this week we’re slowing things down a bit and pulling out a classic ballad from the ‘Who’s That Girl’ soundtrack, ‘The Look of Love’.

Released in November 30, 1987, ‘The Look of Love’ was released in Europe and Japan to moderate success peaking in the top 5 in Italy and 6 in Ireland. I remember liking the song and its placement in the film. It was quickly and easily my favorite track from the film. I was excited to grab a copy of this 12” vinyl, with poster, at an import store in Houston back in the 80’s. A solid 80’s synth-pop ballad!❤️

This week I am choosing Madonna’s ‘Lucky Star’ for my friend @pesodelrey Madonna challenge, #madonnavinylfriday.

Released on September 9, 1983, ‘Lucky Star’ peaked at no. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 making it her highest chart performing track off the album and her first Top 5 hit! This song was a mainstay on MTV. Madonna presented in front of a stark white backdrop where she is prominently featured front and center. Flanked by her dancers, Christopher Ciccone (her brother) and friend Erika Belle, viewers got to really see her dance moves and her iconic style front and center. Sexy and playful, this is the Madonna we all fell in love with and continue to adore.❤️ #vinyl #recordcollection #madonna #80s
