A Sunday full of inspiration! ✨

@ashhh_.x and I bought tickets to the #shedidthatholidaybazaar. We had so much fun meeting ppl and supporting black women owned businesses. Products like bags, candles, pottery and clothes were being sold. It was an amazing turn out and we definitely left with a couple of things. 😆

Still getting the hang of this “networking” thing 🤭

I also love seeing my friends thrive in their business like @signedby_k! A calligraphy artist who makes objects so much more special with engravings. If you’re looking to personalize anything, hit her up! 🎀🎁

I ended the night watching Queen Inspiration herself, Beyoncé. Incredible tour and incredible movie. 👑

As an artist that works with my hands, I love to be inspired in the smallest of details - down to my nails 💅🏿

Especially because my hands are often photographed when I’m engraving (tune in for more at @signedby_k 🥰) I like for my nail design to be a conversation starter.

For this nail design, I cut pieces of a one dollar bill for my nail tech (hey @hernailsnyc) to achieve this look and decided since one hand will be matte, I’ll make the other glossy.

I like depth.
I like texture.
I like juxtaposition.

What are your fall inspo designs you’re looking to try? Let me know in the comments 🔽🔽🔽📲

there are so many virgos in my life. but my heart truly beats for this one. happy 70th birthday birthday to my mom, the woman who has taught, loved and given me more than anyone else.

special shoutouts and thank you’s to:

• the team @havandmar for going above and beyond to make mom’s dinner extra special. not just the faces we saw but the event team, the waitstaff, front and back of house, all the chefs including Mr. Marcus Samuelsson himself we truly appreciate you all.

• Ms. Khalia Harrison of @signedby_k for
always bringing my ideas to life. i absolutely love what you do and the leather bookmark gifts for each guests were gorgeous.

• my brother for flying seven thousand miles total in 4 days to be here for our queen and back home to his family.

• and last but far from least… my family, my mains and my friends aka all my mom’s bonus children who showed up to make sure JPM (the original 3 letter diva ☺️) felt loved. this village means so much to me. y’all are the real MVP’s.

asante + luv,
rachel

🍽️ Celebrating Black Love and Culinary Partnership: A Heartwarming Affair at the Institute of Culinary Education, Sponsored by Basil Hayden! 🍽️

I'm thrilled to share the unforgettable journey I had as an event designer at the Institute of Culinary Education. Let's transport ourselves to a truly heart-touching event, where the spotlight was on the beauty of black love and the inspiring culinary collaborations between couples, all made even more special by the gracious sponsorship of Basil Hayden. 🥰👩‍❤️‍👨🍳

We've all heard the adage, "The way to someone's heart is through their stomach." The undeniable connection between food and companionship has always fascinated me. Creating experiences that deeply resonate with people is my forte, and this recent event was a remarkable embodiment of that philosophy.

Picture this: couples uniting in harmony, working side by side, chopping, stirring, and co-creating gastronomic wonders. The laughter, the exchanged glances, and the seamless teamwork as they crafted each exquisite dish not only fulfilled their culinary desires but also nurtured their relationships. The act of cooking together transcended the kitchen, fostering communication, collaboration, and an unbreakable bond – a truly captivating spectacle.

With black love as the cornerstone, our celebration was a tribute to the power of unity, the joy of crafting culinary marvels from scratch, and the art of cherishing every moment. From meticulously crafting dishes to mastering the art of presentation, these couples embarked on a journey of culinary exploration and relationship enrichment, all under the supportive direction of @chefjeffdidit

So here's to reliving those heartwarming moments of partnership and unity—one plate, one memory at a time. As we savor the harmony of flavors, let's always remember the remarkable bonds we share, nurtured by both food and the enduring power of Black Love. 🥂👨🏾‍🍳👩🏾‍🍳 | 👨🏾‍🍳👨🏾‍🍳#EmbracingBlackLove #BasilHaydenSponsorship #InstituteOfCulinaryLove #BlackLove #lyandmedesigns
