✨ WHEN YOU’RE ASKED TO LEAD… YOU LEAD. ✨

Thank you to Ashton Hall for trusting me once again with the vision for Hair & Makeup. Being asked to serve as Director of Hair & Makeup is something I do not take lightly.

I remember the day I told my mentor, @monaeartistry, that I was ready to lead.

Well… Saturday, I DID JUST THAT. ❤️

I had the opportunity to lead an incredible team of hairstylists, makeup artists, students, and models as we brought the beauty vision for Anatomy of Love to life.

Because Anatomy of Love told a love story, we wanted the women to embody class, elegance, romance, and strength. We immediately pulled inspiration from the 1940s—Victory Rolls, S-Waves Bang with a side bun, and the classic Pageboy—but we gave each look a modern rockstar edge.

And the team EXECUTED. ✨

Every look came together beautifully and professionally, and I could not be more proud of what we created together.

A special thank-you to the Paul Mitchell students for partnering with me, trusting my direction, learning the vision, and helping bring these looks to the runway. Watching you take what we worked on and execute it for the show was such a rewarding experience.

Thank you to my amazing team: The Ashton Hall team, @ Emanuel, Chrystal, Stephanie, Rae Hightower, the Paul Mitchell students, and my assistant Destini. Your talent, professionalism, teamwork, and energy helped make this vision possible.

Yesterday was bigger than creating beautiful hair and makeup for me.

It was a reminder that I asked for the opportunity to lead—and when the opportunity came, I stepped into it.

From being behind the chair, to working backstage, to assisting others, to now directing my own team… every experience has been preparing me for moments like this.

Anatomy of Love ❤️
Hair & Makeup Direction: D’Wanna Downs
Make-up Lead: @Rae Hightower
Assistant: @Paul Mitchell Students

Thank you, Ashton Hall, for trusting me with the vision once again.

Yesterday, I didn’t just create. I led. ✨

✨ D’Wanna Downs Pro Takes on the Students! ✨

What a wonderful time we had yesterday at Paul Mitchell The School Little Rock! I had the pleasure of teaching the students three 1940s-inspired runway hairstyles in preparation for the upcoming Ashton Hall Collection: Anatomy of Love Fashion Show.

The students arrived ready to learn, create, and challenge themselves—and they did a wonderful job executing all three hairstyles! I’m incredibly proud of their creativity, focus, and enthusiasm. I cannot wait for everyone to see the finished looks come to life on the runway!

A special thank-you to Paul Mitchell The School Little Rock for welcoming me and collaborating with the Ashton Hall Collection. It was an honor to share my knowledge and prepare the next generation of beauty professionals for a real runway experience.

🐝 Buzzing in the Community!

Today I was poolside with @rachelshardaye of @girllets__ and a group of beauties for the Girl Let’s Poolates event, and it was such a vibe! ✨

After just one conversation, my answer was an immediate YES but meeting her in person today was the icing on the cake.

I’m always grateful when I’m invited to lead events, but I’m especially excited when they’re centered around bringing women together and creating a fun, safe space to connect, grow, and vibe.

I met so many incredible women; some I’ve been following on social media for years, some I’ve known for years, and others I’ve connected with right here on this app. It was so special to finally meet so many of you in person! I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces again. 💛

Catch me in the studio soon! I teach at two locations, with classes six days a week and several different Pilates (and other fitness) methods.

And don’t forget NEXT SUNDAY I’ll be at @pourcandlebar for Candle Pouring + PILATES! 🕯️🩷 Come join us!

Want me at your next event? I’d love to be a part of it! 💕 Email me at thebfitlife@gmail.com or send me a DM for rates and availability.

LATE POST⏰

On June 7th I had the opportunity to perform with THE @prettyrickicole in Hair Invasion 2026💇🏾‍♀️💈

Let’s just say, a time was had. I truly enjoyed being an “live canvas”, a work of art 🖼️…while Ricki slayed with her ‘razor violin 🎻. We danced. We laughed. We cut up!
We had @signedgorgeous on the make up— her work is unmatched, you see the faces💄🎨👩‍🎨.
It’s always a pleasure sharing the stage with this team and meeting beautiful souls while doing it. Looking forward to many more🙂‍↕️

Thank you again for having me 🙏🏾
