Family and friends — I’m building something new, and I’d like to invite you to be part of it.

Over the years, through the Marines, NYPD, social work, fatherhood, and community life, I’ve seen something repeating in the people around me — and within myself:
we’re living in a time where many feel disconnected from meaning, discipline, and the civic values that once held us together.

That’s why I’ve launched Center Fidelis — a space dedicated to restoring what I call the Guardian Identity:
the mindset, values, and character of a person who stands or seeks to stand firm, live disciplined, and lead our communities and families with fidelity.

On Center Fidelis, I’ll be sharing:
• Habit-building strategies
• Evidence-based psychology & identity work
• Stoic and moral philosophy
• Military & law enforcement leadership principles
• Reflections on purpose and responsibility
• Practical tools for emotional strength & civic stewardship

This isn’t just for veterans or first responders.
It’s for anyone who wants to grow into someone their family, community, and future can rely on.

I’m not coming as an expert above anyone — I’m coming as a fellow Guardian, doing the same work and walking the same path.

More content is coming soon.
Thank you for supporting this mission.

Stand firm.
Live disciplined.
Lead with fidelity.

John K. Buthorn

Dom had another amazing and very special day yesterday...Special in the way that she was surrounded by the people who were with her from day one of her Judo journey minus a few!!
She was gifted a custom-made, beautiful black belt all the way from Japan!!! Shoutout to Stu for that!! Thank you all for your love & support through the years!! Without all of the love, hard work and dedication, she would not be where she is today! Truly grateful for all of you!! @sijjd @tanpaya_ @povitale @alexx.russo_ @johnybonez @lisatriple @ajoeviola @sampeppers_ #dayones #ittakesavillage #judofamily❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

With satellite weigh in options all along the east coast, Philly is an easy day trip for a tournament with the opportunity to fight competitors from much farther north/south.

If your sensei is interested in becoming a satellite spot- make sure they reach out to @amoyerman in the coming week so we can add them to the list! Our full list of dojos will be posted a week prior to the event.

Register on smoothcomp today.
See you Sept 21!

I’m honored to vote for my friend, Joe Cannizzo, to be part of the Trump/RFK team and vision for a healthier America. Joe did not back down during the COVID mandate madness. Like many of us, his decisions cost him dearly, but he did not compromise his dignity, his values, and what he knew to be right and true. He has taken those qualities with him to practice martial arts in New Port Richey, Florida, and — while his absence is a great loss to New Yorkers — the people there are lucky to have him. Please sign up and vote for Joe. America’s children need real, healthy role models to look up to who have their best interests at heart ❤️ @newportricheyjudo @sijjd

DO NOT LET THEM REWRITE HISTORY! The lying and gaslighting continues to hit all time highs. Let’s hope the incoming administration sheds a light on the atrocities that happened to small businesses in NY during CV, acknowledges them and on a FEDERAL level makes safe guards so it can never happen again. #leavehistoryalone #mandates #neverforget #livesarestillruined

Taras @nazar_petrovskiy is showing up and doing what I say. This is the intensity we’re bringing to Cuba. I don’t care if he loses first round- I know that he’s preparing correctly and not wasting the little time we have before he gets his passport stamped. We’re shooting for a medal, nothing less.

Come train with me. Or don’t, whatever.

Today in class, we did an extremely deep dive into Juji.
-
Unfortunately, due to my knee situation- I can’t show the whole juji roll. My physical therapist @seattle_combat_sports_pt might beat me up.
-
But this is the whole sequence behind finishing a juji, suitable for both club practice and competition application.

@leeroypress @viralnewsnyc reports that the NYC Sheriff’s Department has been raided.
You know they right? The ones that worked as @billdeblasio foot soldiers enforcing unconstitutional rule sets known as “mandates”. They illegally arrested people. Illegally fined people. Ran stings and didn’t follow any protocols endangering everyone involved. Lied and defamed @danny.presti in a smear campaign so they can intimidate small businesses across the city to do as they’re told. The message was clear, open like @macspublichouse and the city was coming to destroy you. They have now dove into @nycmayor but without going after charges for Bill DeBlasio it’s all BS.
We have been out here calling to end the corruption while many simped and raged with the machine. Karma does come back around.
