Happy Birthday Silas! 🥳

While he’s busy filling gas, cleaning boats, and sending out rentals, we’re pretty sure he’s mentally playing volleyball somewhere…

We hope you have a great day! 🏐🤙

We had no clue. I mean. We did not. Could not have known what these 13 years would hold when we said yes to becoming a family. The 25th of January, 2013 - the first year of our family anniversary tradition we call “Second Christmas”. There’s a story there. Although now, looking back at the photos of that night, Luke might have known (👀 swipe for the look).

This month marks one full year of missing the presence and being of one of us in our home, and my mama heart never feeling fully-filled.

But here we are, holding each other, celebrating, even though our days are messy, peppered with eye rolls, petty arguments, often choosing self instead of one another.

Forever grateful to have a partner that cares, just as much as me, in fighting for love and connection for us and for our four boys. The gift of Luke asking us to adopt him was such unexpected redemption for my heart and evidence of God’s favor in my life, our lives.

Here’s to another year! 🥂 Come what may.

A bless-ed Monday.

Silas, baptized. Claiming freedom, and confessing to a life of following Christ.

Certainly, this commitment does not create a life of ease. In so many ways, it requires greater sacrifice, courage, perseverance. And “foolish” wonder, faith and hope when life is confusing, unfair, and falling apart.

What a gift. This decision. Christmas, 2025. I could not ask for any sweeter or greater gift than my child resting in His promise(s).

Psst - Love you, Si. I love your heart. Your conviction. Curiosity. Passion for life. So grateful for you, and for your response.

. . .

Romans 15:13 “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
