I spent the past 10 days door knocking in Chester County, Pennsylvania with a group of 25 comrades committed to fighting for a better world. We flew, drove, and train-ed from all across the country, taking time off work and away from family, to devote ourselves to something so much bigger than Us. Through @seed_the_vote’s grassroots organizing, we door knocked 8-9 hours every day, totaling over 6,000 knocks. And none of this could have been possible without the support from friends and family (many of you!) who funded our costs to be there.

➡️ I AM HOSTING A ZOOM ‘STORY SHARE FROM THE STREETS’ on Sunday Nov 17, so we can feed and be fed by community. Stay tuned - for details.
~
I wake today feeling sad, scared, angry, and mostly appalled and in disbelief that the American people (popular vote), not just the messed up system (electoral college), has elected Trump as a president.

In this moment of overwhelm and drowning, I find myself simultaneously reaching for the light. Whether it’s muscle memory, survival tactics, or just being surrounded by humans who bring out strength in one another, I am reminded of the good:

🟦 Chester County went Blue. We did our part here on the ground. We talked to republicans who are voting blue for the first time in their lives. We helped older folks who couldn’t physically get to the polls figure out emergency absentee ballots. We got rides for first time voters to get to the polls at 7:40pm. And so many more stories.

🌱I can also feel the love and connection that was planted through this work: the conversations at every door, the solidarity between union organizations, and the strength across the movement of change makers who are putting their bodies on the line to build the world we want to live in. We are all in this together and I feel my place in that larger sea. And for this, I AM SO GRATEFUL.
💪🏻It is only together that we will win. 💪🏻

✨May we find the strength to keep fighting along side each other.
✨May we come back next time, each of us having recruited 25 more friends to knock.
✨May we all find each other’s light in the sky of darkness.

Every now and again, the stars align and I get things done! I’d attempted this problem dozens of times over at least ten sessions, but this time I thought to myself, “this one’s going to be a good one.” Soon after, I found myself on top completely stunned!

Now that it’s done, I’m overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for what GB and this climb have offered me. To @gorbywan for showing up and getting after it, @libraryanne31 for kind words and trusting the process, @charlie46 for helping me gather my powers and tap into some serious try hard, the dozen or so people who came to hang out and support, and those who make climbing access in these beautiful woods possible, thank you.
